Those two, combined with dropping VDDC to 1,132V in vBIOS (in both #0 and #4 profiles), resulted in this :

IT WORKS !!!
Or at least result is at where it should be at least :)
VDDC get's spikey (along with VRM not sure why yet), but the same thing was happening on default vBIOS as well so that's OK.

Here's default score at 1120/1400 in profile #0 and 1050/1400 as profile #4 :

Q: @agent_x007 So what voltage were you able to get when doing the benchmark tests? The VDDC value of 0.871 ?? That's a lot lower than what I was able to get.

@agent_x007 Out of curiosity how much did you pay for the used card? They are still very good cards so I wonder how cheap they are now in 2020?

I'm at 1,093V in vBIOS (equal to UVD profile max. voltage).
I payed ~70$ including shipping, BUT keep in mind that I'm from Central EU, and bought it locally.

Does this support vega64? I want to undervolt (and maybe underclock) the card. I'm on Mac so any tuner apps is not going to work. Thanks

No, as it says in the first post of the thread "THE SOFTWARE IS FOR A LIMITED GROUP OF Tahiti, Pitcairn, Cape Verde, Oland, and Malta based GRAPHIC CARDS "

Vega bios' are digitally signed and if the bios finds the bios has changes then it won't switch on. The only choice for bios change is to load a bios from a different card. I think watercooling bios' may need to read a pump speed, IIRC from reading a thread on it. The biggest boost is for vega 56 > 64 bios where you get increased memory voltage and possibility to unlock extra graphic units i.e. vega 58 ect.

I'm trying to HEX edit memory voltage on an XFX R9 280x DD with no luck. From what I've found, 1,5volt is written as a default value, like "65284" and i don't know how could I change it without breaking something.
Any help is appreciated.

Hello everyone.
I have some questions, because I can't find anything.

I have AMD R5 240 with 1024 MB DDR3 (Dell version) and I tried to overclock it. I know it's really slow, but it's just my "desktop accelerator" to time when I buy real GPU, so I want to make some fun with it.

First I try to search for some crossflash (R7 250, R7 350), but I can't find any with 1024 MB of DDR3.

Then I try to use VBE7, but with no luck - voltage for state #0 was changed (to 1.2 V), but maximal frequency doesn't change (GPU-Z says max is 1300, but default clock still 825 MHz).
MSI Afterburner limit is 1075 MHz and anything more. PowerLimit is now 70W.

My oryginal BIOS:

In this place I have few questions:
- why after change of clock in VBE7 it doesn't make any changes in limits in overclocking software?
- is there any chance to cross-flash to other model/manufactuer to unlock higher settings?
- is there any possibility to change type/amount of RAM in BIOS? I found Sapphire/Asus Oland GPU, but with 2048 MB.

I don't want to make "fake" GPU or someting, even if I buy new GPU I left this, because it too cheap to sell it :D It's just for fun now.

Hi, to answer your questions in the order you have asked them...……………...

1. Some Bioses are locked to protect the hardware so they will not be moddable (there are some unlock commands for flashing that could be tried), also some voltage regulators are locked and therefore a software mod will not change that.
2. There is a chance to cross flash another Bios but the risks are fairly high, you would need to know your device ID, what type of memory your card has (Samsung/Elphida/Hynix/Micron). You would need to ensure that the cards Bios you are flashing has the exact same outputs (HDMI/DP/DVI/Dsub etc).
3. No, very high risk of card failure with a forced flash with a different memory size.

Have a read of this guide ……….

@Tatty_One Thank You for realy fast response.
I know it could brick it so before making crossflash I decide to ask. I found in database rom for Dell's R7 250, but I think it's wrong described, because it's same as mine.

I read also topic about flashing, but I didn't find information about unlocking BIOS. I though part described as "rom unlock" was about situation when I couldn't do anything with rom.

VBE7 in my case change only voltage (in Boost stage) and value shown in GPU-Z (GPU-Z window "Default clock" - value from VBE7 editor like 1200 or 1300 MHz, GPU-Z window "GPU clock" = oryginal 825 MHz). Nothing else.

How to unlock rom?

And i flash it through Windows app (I know it's wrong, but it was faster...), but I think it works because voltages was updated.

The windows version of the ATI flashing tool is fine, take a look at this VBE7 modded Bios I just did, for commands you may need the dos version of the tool, in the link I posted scroll down to the "commands" for the unlock....……………..

Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. Even after unlocking Rom (after flashing original one) and when I try to edit Rom after unlock it doesn't change anything, only voltage.

Hi Guys, recently I am modding few "oldies"... on the HD7850 and HD6850 i can increase the voltage but there is a limitation in terms of voltage editors, I also tried to change same PCB bioses but not satisfied. I would like to understand if there is a guide to work by hexadecimal editors, bcs searching online, not so clear ideas... tks in advance

something that I did previously, I don't like to bother others when is not necessary. I can already edit BIOSes, flash different of it with same PCB, and so on... my request is specifically about voltage unlocks, by hexadecimals editors... searching by google, the resources are not clear and a little bit confused

Is there a way to limit max pcie lanes with modding video bios? (HEX-edit?)
I have a 7950 card (Sapphire, it was only 12 usd as faulty) with missing two capacitor over the pcie connector, so it is only works in 1x or 4x mode but not in 8x or 16x mode. The pcb is damaged on that part so i can not solder a capacitor back (conductive part ripped). The card is stable with a riser adapter. So i think with 4x 3.0 bandwidth is the same as 1.1 16x so just a little performance lost with this limited pcie mode. I don't want to use a riser, i want it work in the 16x slot with 4x mode.

Nah its physical modding time, W1zz does it with sticky tape over the lanes, or if you want permanent you can use nail varnish

Cant repair that part, it is missing all the copper on the pcb where the smd located. (not just the smd ripped off) So no way to solder it.
I sold the card for 32 usd.

So I'm screwing around with a FirePro W2100 I picked up for $20. It has an Oland core. I tried this software on it, and indeed it works.

Now earlier this year I was able to get about 1250MHz out of an Oland-based OEM R7 350, and that was a real junker card with no voltage control.

The base clock on the W2100 is only 680MHz. I'm able to change the BIOS with the tool to basically anything so I set the maximum to 1800MHz and the P0 state to 1200MHz.

The problem is the card is still running by default at 680MHz. Now I was able to get the Afterburner slider to extend to 1150MHz from 880MHz after the modification, but I know there is more left in the tank.

It's fully stable at 1150MHz, but what would be my next move to unlock more MHz? I want that Afterburner slider to give me that full 1800MHz. Keep in mind that there is no power tuning for this card in the drivers because this is a Pro card and they try hard to lock this sort of thing down. It's on air at the moment but I have a water block on standby if things get toasty.

Get some sticker pics and a board shot, how about gpu-z shot as well please. The mod sounds fun.
