Vista and Firefox Gaining Market Share; OS X and Internet Explorer Lose Market Share

Despite all the whining over Windows Vista, the next version of Windows, it seems like Windows Vista is doing pretty well for itself. Figuratively speaking, of course. Windows Vista now accounts for 2.04% of all operating systems installed. This is more than double last month's figure, which was .93%. In direct contrast, despite all the pro-Macintosh advertisements and Macintosh "fanboys", Mac OS X has lost .3% of it's market share, and now accounts for 6.08% of all operating systems installed.

In related news, Mozilla Firefox is gaining market momentum. 15.1% of all internet users access it through Mozilla Firefox, while Internet Explorer users account for 78.6% of all internet users. Apple Safari usage dropped to around 4.51%

Good news for Mozilla. As for Vista, I'm still in two minds about it. It looks great, but not all software works with it which is a pain in the arse.

Good news! Though yeah I too feel most people should wait a little while longer to use Vista.. hopefully around June I can just do a direct install of it, but I think it will be a little longer than that until Vista is mainstream.

Great news for Firefox & Vista!

Firefox has never let me down, and I recommend it to anyone, as Firefox is the best browser I have owned.

Vista gives me no problems, besides the normal decrease in speed of the system ( but that is expected, all new OS'es do that.) Vista already has shown its potential, and it can only get better. Kudos to Microsoft for listening to our pleads!

I shun all nay-sayers because it is not appropriate to compare aged and mature operating systems to one that just came out a few months ago, it steadily gets better and eventually, it will be considered the OS of choice (although I consider it my OS of choice already.

Exactly the reason Mac OS isn't such a big hit.

Well done Firefox. Vista is something Im heavily waying in on. Im not wanting to install it now, as Im afraid its still buggy and lacks driver support. As soon as these two things are fixed...I will be migrating to Windows new OS. By then, I suspect the next Windows OS will be out.

Numbers make perfect sense considering Safari is the worst web browser available right now, it lacks many important things for web development like WYSIWYG editor support. That and it seems to have few and useful updates. I love OSX, but Safari is the worst thing about it, and I reccomend all OSX users switch to using Firefox or Opera as I do for all my customers.
