What are you playing?

Fallout 4 for the first time. Vanilla run.

It's alright, feels like it's really drifted far from the core concept at this point, taking itself too seriously and not seriously enough in all the wrong places.

Nevertheless it's fun.

Tying the physics to the frame rate is one of those coding things I just don't get. It's absolutely rage inducing that running the game at 144fps means my character cannot jump high enough to reach basic spots while caping frames at 60fps makes the game take ages.
Ping me if you want some mods to add plenty of suffering serious post-war vibes, visuals and enemies. Make it more like STALKER and Metro and less GTA V with nukes.
I even have some survival mods that can't be found anymore, like extra rads food or one that punishes your character for not eating enough or drinking dirty water, you get sick and have to look for meds, skull enemies oneshot you no matter what, all kinds of stuff.

I fixed the FPS issue with fpslimiter64, goes into your game folder, runs together with the game and this is pretty much all it does.

Just finished F.E.A.R Perseus Mandate (PC of course !)
2nd extension of the game, it's not bad, a bit redundant ...
Like Extraction Point, I found it's more action oriented, and a bit of filing in the middle game.
In fact, the devs' could have mixed the 2 extensions, shave some content and keep the best part into a single extension.
So, F.E.A.R the complete edition is over now, I'm moving to Painkiller Black Edition now ! :)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R ? No, F.E.A.R !

Some good "strange" moment, too bad there aren't much of them.

Ultra underground experimentation facility ... Something went wrong :)

-Always play games vanilla the first time through, then add any mods after the fact if the game is worth a second run. I'll keep some of these in mind though...

After the train wreck which is City Skylines 2, I went back to play the original. I evidently must have moved on to something else at the time because I'd only clocked up 15 hours. I usually spend more time if it gets its hooks in. I have to say I really enjoyed the second time round. I've managed to try every improvement in my sprawling metropolis which now runs like a well-oiled machine. :D

Diablo 4 Season 2. Lost a bit of faith after launch with all the nerfs & Season 1, but glad I decided to return to it to give season 2 a go.

Understand that it isn't for some people, but I am myself & not 'some people' & make my own mind up on things.:D:pimp:

Last F1 race for the year. As usual watch in 1080p and turn up the volume :rockout:

Fresh new puzzles for me! Some of them are so easy, in hindsight, while others..

They really put the effort in the presentation; the vistas, the sounds & music, the voice-acting.
Also you have a lot more freedom. So far The Talos Principle 2 hasn't disappointed [9/10]

my friend irl beat this recently and she said it was goty for her. :D so awesome to see this game do well

I am playing Ori games in HDR OLED... it's pretty wild how much HDR changes things in OLED... its like a different game.

I'm all for playing a vanilla first run, but Bethesda games in particular I would really consider the community bug patches, physics/scripting fixes, etc.

Firing up fallout 3 for the 6th time :D, checking it out since they updated the game by removing the windows live service and there is no more fiddling with opening notepad etc
Also im playing this on the laptop, if you are running nvidia gpu make sure you open nvidia control panel, manage 3d settings, global settings tab and set the preferred gpu is nvidia gpu
it should launch

After railworks/train simulator failed me, i saw and picked up derail valley last week.

I actually checked out Cities:Skylines for the trains, but when I actually got them, they were pretty one-dimensional.
Have you played Transport Fever 2? If like me you are looking for a vehicle game (I know you are not, but just in case someone is) TF2 is a great game to play.

I actually want to try out Derail Valley, but it never goes on sale :slap:

iirc it is one man or very small dev team for quite big VR game.
more info about the game:
i think 35 is fair price for the scope they plan. and it looks from reviews they deliver quite well

PS it is 7 man show

i actually got it for a pretty decent price. about 20$ equivalent. I tried the game first before buying but was hooked within 5mins. (i never watch youtube videos before purchase so that i am unbiased). Checked steam and it was reasonably priced. honestly for what we get its not a bad price at all.

Woah, this looks like a nice game. I'd love to ride around landscapes in a steam loco.
you can even ride around diesel electrics/ diesel mechanicals(if you like shifting gears) as well.

but i found steam to be the most cost effective for hauling large amounts of cargo, and the diesel shunter is good for... shunting

there is a steam shunter too thats good for decent loads but its basically thomas the tank engine and has a tiny tank.

i recently did a run from FoodFactory to Harbour in the small shunter S060 and my tank was empty. just a few drops left in the boiler. had to ditch my fire when going downhill the last bit lol. Fortunately had enough steam to coast to a stop and the mass helped too (400tons of cargo)

afaik diesel replaced steam because of maintenance costs, but they're more expensive to run, so it being cheaper to run makes sense

emissions also a big factor. Places where people dont care about emissions (like chinese coal mines) they still use steam engines because lol its a coal mine, fuel is abundant.

this is the first time i actually felt i had to take care of the steam engine. the simulation is very detailed. lots of nerdy stuff like just the boiler pressure can vary based on water level, how much water is being injected, fire temparature. fire temp inturn varies based on your regulator and reverser positions, as well as the grates!

oh and if you run out of water you can dump the fire to prevent an explosion (which i had many of when starting out lol)

honestly i think its the best simulator till date for steam locos.

i like steam locos, couldnt you tell?

I imagine you've seen Steam Engine Simulator too?

Not a full game, but it's neat to mess with the engine.
