Okay, so this game has been challenging me more than the first one was.

I'm finishing Spyro 2 and I keep failing at the last boss (third/final portion when flying, because of course it's flying parts that do me in), so I went back through some earlier areas to take a break. I wanted to see if I missed any low hanging fruit since I've sort of been only doing the bare minimum plus whatever is easy, as opposed to trying to get close to 100% in a given level/area before moving on like in the first one. I definitely won't be doing that here because too many of the mini-games aren't ones that I care for.

In doing so, I noticed the hub for the second area had an unusually low completion rate. I saw one of the orbs... but I couldn't reach it. There's two spires of land in the distance and the orb is on the taller one. I can reach the shorter one by flying out to it from the wall, but you can't reach the taller one from the shorter one. I thought maybe I needed another skill, but I think (?) I've learned them all.

I've had a nagging thought that there's a higher spot elsewhere that I need to fly to it from. I told myself that wouldn't make sense because it would render the shorter spire useless, and why would it be there if it's useless, right? Well... maybe it was a trick for that reason. The game rewards you for looking around.

Now that is something that might be tall enough... but how do I get up there? The Green roofs won't let me reach it.

Okay, it almost has to be accessible from inside the castle. It turns out that, just like the wall, there's a portion you can break.

Can I finally reach it!?

Okay, so that wasn't that much of an accomplishment but since I'm struggling with the last boss, I need something else to feel accomplished. This is it. I think I've done all the level stuff I will be able to (I've entirely avoided the flying levels but maybe I should do those) so I'm around 72% on the sequel. Compared to 97% on the first. (I know it goes over 100% but I'm not doing the entirety of the flying level requirements in one go, forget that!)

did it fix the shitty fake simulation?
Let me tell you 2 things that have improved.

1. Garbage, before once your population got to 300,000+ you needed to keep creating Land Fills. Now on one map my population is 400,000+ and I have one land fill that is 1% full.

2. Deaths from creating Grids has been solved. In the previous Game if you created Grids it made you create more and more Crematoriums.

I could talk about how Bus Networks make more sense. It is easier to lay water and electrical lines but You can discover some nuggets yourself.

I'm definitely finding the second one more challenging. The first was far more casual. The flying stages are the only thing I'd say was somewhat tough in the first, and even that was mostly if you wanted to complete the entire thing in a single pass. For the second, I'd say the additional challenge comes from the aspect of completion, but if you're just after the bare minimum to pass the game, it's not too tough. The last boss might be a slight difficulty spike (at least in the third/flying phase, or maybe I'm just that bad at the flying portions).

Though, admittedly, I'm a casual and not looking to push myself for full completion here.

I was almost expecting to be sent to the third phase of the final boss when I failed because modern game design seems afraid to risk asking the player to repeat anything. So even though I'm struggling a bit (I'll get past it), I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that.

While I'm not into that genre at all, it does sound amusing to mess around with stuff like that. 'Brotherhood of EU, I don't even want to imagine whats even that'

Nothing new to post from me, still playing my usual 2 gachas and one of them is getting a big update in a day tho I wanted to go back to D4 and finish my Season 7 Ball Lightning Sorc cause I will skip S8 anyway and check up on Last Epoch instead since it had some serious updates since the last time I've played it..'
Its awesome, you don't even need to be good, just cheat your way to a power fantasy. I won't lie, that's how I played soviets this time around. Good way to get to know the game's systems, too. What makes it so amazing is the depth to which you still need to manage everything. Cheating just gets you the resources, but its so easy to have 400 divisions sitting there doing fck all because you haven't managed the logistics.

And... that's just one aspect of the management you do. Supply lines. But there is also a navy; an air force, and each play their role. You can't win wars with them. But they can fill all sorts of gaps. And beyond that there is the political game, which really defines it, you can steer the game's history your way by making choices all the time, and even there, you can cheat more influence... but it won't stop you getting enemies as you get stronger, and it all still feels sort of logical 'cause and effect'.

Put together a 2012 gaming PC (3770K, Z77, 32GB, GTX 660) and currently playing Far Cry on it, damn I hate some of those levels. Especially the catacombs where I left my progress.

I'm definitely finding the second one more challenging. The first was far more casual. The flying stages are the only thing I'd say was somewhat tough in the first, and even that was mostly if you wanted to complete the entire thing in a single pass. Luckily you can use the firefly to point out any gems you're missing. Almost lost my mind when searching for them until I learned about that feature. Can't remember did the original PS1 ones have that?

Very nice! Don't leave out Crysis, Doom3 or Quake4!
At least I need to install Doom3 and Q4, now going to play all the dope 2004 and 2005 shooters and I don't need my main PC to play them maxed out with high refresh rate :toast: Painkiller's next after FC, never finished it yet.

from my experience the game was too easy as it is. there was no difficulty like in CS 1. CS2 was wayyyy to easy. Doesnt matter if your traffic is shit or not, ambulances and hearses would be able to work in CS2.

I keep forgetting about that. And I think this was a feature added in the Reignited trilogy (if it was in some of the later classics, it definitely wasn't in the first one at least).

It wasn't so much the gems themselves I was after though. It was more that if that many were missing, it signified there was still a large area I hadn't found yet, which also signified that might be how I would access the one small spot I had found but couldn't reach.

Started up Atomfall this weekend after finishing the story in CP2077. I'm about 2 hours in and so far enjoying the exploration, crafting and finding new leads to solve what happened with the nuclear disaster. The game was actually inspired by real life events.

I just had a quick look at Atomfall on Steam and it does look good. Makes a change to hear regional British and Irish accents in a game and the scenery looks incredible.
Useless fact: I used to go to boarding school in Gosforth, a few miles from Windscale, which could explain quite a lot!

I've finished the new main story update in Wuwa and this was genuinely amazing especially for a F2P game..
I hardly ever do this nowadays but this made me sit at the PC for nearly 4 hours w/o taking a break.:slap: 'the game warned me after 3 hours that I should take a break:laugh:'
The new zone was also quite interesting like an inverted place.

This game knows how to play with my emotions thats for sure, by the end it almost made me tear up.. 'really curious how they gonna top this with their future updates'

I finished Dredge. It's a really great game and fairly short. So, I started playing Pacific Drive, but then another big update happened for No Man's Sky and new Expedition. Just when I thought I was done.. NMS pulls me right back in! haha
