Baldur's Gate also a great game.
There's Baldur's Gate 3 release. Anyone played that? The steam reviews are pretty good.
Oh man I'm gonna be all over BG3 when it is finished. Not touching that pre-release.

But the old ones held up nicely being isometric... if the res is too low for your taste, I can heartily recommend the Enhanced Editions, too. Theyre in a good spot for both BG1 and 2.

The Hitman series has endless replayability because each mission can be executed in so many different ways. I prefer 100% stealth myself and have replayed Hawkes Bay in Hitman 2 numerous times.

Only what was officially released in the US.
I did get Anthology later but it plays like crap, Square didn't do such a god job on making that work with the PSX but at least I've got it.
Oh my.. Yeah that was a very poor effort on the part of SquareSoft at the time, both in the quality of the game experience and the translation. Still worth having if you have nothing else... The RPGe translation was entirely the better effort and was much more refined.

How am I only noticing this thread NOW?!:kookoo::eek:

I'm so glad a lot of responses include console games, as that's where the bulk of my games-worth-replaying are. And thanks to emulators, I play them whenever I want. Though, let's be honest, it's not quite the same as firing up the ol' NES/SNES/Genesis, am I right?

I'll keep my picks brief.

NES
Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 and 3
Legend of Zelda
Zelda II - The Adventure of Link (I'm doing yet another replay of this atm)
Metroid
TMNT II: The Arcade Game
Contra
Dr. Mario

SNES
Super Mario World
Super Metroid (and its various hacks. Some of 'em are amazing!)
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG: Legend of The Seven Stars
Zombies Ate My Neighbors (one of Lucas Arts lesser-known games)
Donkey Kong Country 1&2 (Didn't care much for 3)
Super Empire Strikes Back (has a soft spot in my heart for being my introduction to SW games)
TMNT IV: Turtles in Time
Super Mario All-Stars
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Earthworm Jim 1 & 2
Megaman X 1, 2 and 3

Genesis/32X/Sega CD
Sonic 1, 2, 3
Sonic & Knuckles (and the lock-on games)
Sonic Spinball
Star Wars 32X
Knuckles Chaotix
Sonic CD
Comix Zone
Dynamite Heady (which is still wacky to this day)

N64
Super Mario 64
Star Wars: Shadows of The Empire
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Master Quest
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Star Fox 64

PSX
Crash Bandicoot
Jet Moto 1 & 2
Megaman X 4, 5 and 6
Final Fantasy VIII
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Marvel Vs. Capcom (though the Dreamcast version is vastly superior)

Gamecube
Metroid Prime 1 & 2
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Super Mario Sunshine
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (prefer it over the Wii's mirrored version)
....and many others I'm probably forgetting

Also loved Metroid Prime 3 on the Wii, Tekken 5 on the PS2, GTA IV on PS3 (I'd really like to experience it on PC) and...that's about all I can think of at the moment. It's late and I'm tired :oops:

Oh boy. The Yoshi's Island is in my book one of the best Mario games I have played :) Thanks for bringing that one up :D

Super Punch Out on snes and wii is awesome :) Funny and so nice to play. So much satisfaction when you get to knock the opponent out :D :D

For an older games.
Has anyone played the Ghouls 'n Ghosts? One of the classic platform/arcade games ever.

I'm not old by any means but old enough to see those who I love age considerably now, and do not know how long they got.

I'll play em when I need to remember. I just figured I won't live a long life so that's why I said my death bed. Lol

I haven't played that one, actually! But the name alone makes me want to give it a try! Thanks for the recommendation! :D

Skyrim and FO4, I might always come back to. The worlds and exploration mechanics in those games are STILL like nothing else and I never feel freer and more absorbed in basic sandboxing. Both unbelievably flawed, but in my mind that is the price you pay.

I occasionally replay an old Pokemon game or two. I like the Gold/Silver remakes, FR/LG too. Some of the real later ones, I can also get down with, even BW2, which is less liked. I've played them all dozens of times. One of my first real "deep" gaming experiences as a child was Red and Blue. Well... that was right along FF6 and Chrono Trigger, which I also go back to every few years. The former, I got perfectly as a kid. The latter two, I didn't fully grasp the brilliance of until my teens. All timeless RPGs in my book.

Old Zelda does it for me, too. Link to the Past is the bomb dot com. I can't go back to the n64 ones. Very important games for their time, but I can't with the clunk anymore even though I was blown away at the time - Windwaker, however I could happily die playing. I will still play SM64 and F-Zero X. Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, Yoshi's Island. Probably a few others I will remember the next time I fire up my emu.

As far as newer games, I find myself replaying games that most people probably don't replay as much. Metro Exodus stands out the most. I'm replaying it right now. Something about the atmosphere... the feeling of negotiating exploration and managing everything. It's just the right balance. Whereas a 'deeper' survival game, I tend to get so hung up on the tedium I tend not to revisit them once I'm done - it's enough to survive it once

I've probably played Plague Tale about 5 or 6 more times than any reasonable human being should. I know every single beat and can probably execute every possible strategy on every passage.
