With most reviews and reviewers obsessed with 4K high refresh rate gaming I wonder what's the situation among the active TPU forums participants.

I don't know why reviewers do that. 4K is still only a little over 2% adoption rate according to the Steam Hardware Survey. A few sites are already putting up articles about 8K. That has the same number of pixels as 16 1080p monitors.

Here's a vote for any other (1200p master race).

On a serious note tough, μLED can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned. Too many compromises for my taste with current era LCD panels.

1080p60 for now, 4k60 in the future. 2160x1600 @ 90Hz on VR (Rift CV1).

I do have two displays but I play only with one.

8K resolution seems rather pointless for everyone except the (medical) professionals because most people can't even see individual pixels at 32" 4K already at a normal distance (>40cm).

It's called marketing. Pushing people to buy things they don't actually need or will use at it's full potential at the time of release. The early adopters become the beta testers.

The same thing happened when LCD/Plasma TVs at 1080p were being marketed when most networks were broadcasting at 480p and some at 720p.

4K120hz OLED TV, this is the way. Even the best 1440p UltraWide screen doesn't hold a candle to the 4K120hz LG OLED TV.

LG CX48, so 3840x2160 @ 120Hz, but I've set a custom res of 3840x1620@120Hz since I prefer 21:9 and it gives me a bit of a boost in FPS in games compared to full 4K.
