27" 1440p 144 Hz

It's the perfect monitor for me.

3440x1440 100Hz here.

I'd love a 32:9 display, so hopefully, they come down in price eventually.
Hi, yeah....Just had a look at the prices for such a screen. I'll just wait for the upcoming lottery win on my birthday tomorrow... :)

I remember one of these threads (been awhile since I was active) where 1080 was the overwhelming majority... I feel old

2560x1440 for me (With a 1920x1080 second monitor for discord and web browsing)

It still is for the majority of regular players, only among TPU users there are a lot of computer enthusiasts.

34inch 2560x1080 144hz

I've been on a 27" curved 1440p144 since about 2017/2018, soon to be a 34" ultrawide 1440p165 on g-synch and certified HDR

27" 1440p 144 Hz

It's the perfect monitor for me.
SAME!

I also have 27" flat (not curved) but I feel i could go for bigger? I don't think.

If i could go for bigger I guess it would have to be 4k.
I gamed for many many years at 1080p and for most of the time either I wasn't doing 1080 cuz i need the extra frames and the computer did not have the power. But right now going back on 1080 looks horrible. Bro, i mean horrible. Everything is so blurry

What I want is more hertz, 200+ would be the next step i guess it's so much easier on the eye

I run a Viotek Ultrawide 144hz screen. Best one I have ever owned for the money and I have owned a ton of LCDs.

I'm happy with my 144hz 1080p for now, will upgrade to 1440p 144hz before 4k.

Main monitor on main rig is a 49" 32:9 3840x1080 144Hz monitor, 2ndary monitor on 2nd rig is a 34" 3440x1440 75Hz monitor....HTPC's hooked up to a 4K 60Hz TV.

Let's all be honest 4K is useless*

I qualify for 1080p >75Hz by 2 Hz
I have my 1080p60 monitor OC'd to 1080p77
It can go more but the monitor's FW doesn't like it

Maybe, maybe not.

However gaming on a large screen 4K/120Hz G-Sync certified OLED television (10-bit color) looks great to this person with old, tired eyes. My "smaller gaming screen" is a 32" FreeSync (G-Sync compatible) 165Hz 1440p LED monitor (8-bit RGB).

It's not just about resolution, it's about all of the other features that the device brings. High end devices usually have high end specs in multiple areas.

Hell, even the sound from this TV set's built-in speakers is pretty good (I have mine plugged into a bonafide home theatre A/V receiver though).

I should mention that my new 4K/120Hz OLED set's CPU does a banging job in upscaling from lower resolutions. Upscaled 1080p content on the 4K set looks better than 1080p content on the 1080p set that it replaced (which I kept).

Also, HDR on PC monitors is an inconsistent, frustrating bag of suck. HDR on TVs is actually very well implemented due to better industry standards and compliance.

How many games can you actually achieve 4k120?

No judgement here, that's awesome you have a nice tv to double as a monitor. Most of the time I am drunkenly playing Overwatch maxed at 165 fps rather than actually taxing my system lol. That being said the benefits of 4k takes a huge display to actually see. I really like my 34" ultrawide at 1440 because it's sharp and it's easier on the fps than 4k.

Quite a lot since I play far more older games than recent AAA titles. The GeForce RTX 3080 helps too. :) As an OLED panel, LG C1's blacks blow doors on LCDs. Many of my games are set in dark environments (e.g., Resident Evil franchise, Control) so the OLED image quite visually striking.

The OLED panel has 1 ms real response time. No LCD panel is close. A recent TechSpot review covers this.

Also the CPU in my LG C1 television does an admirable job upscaling 1080p content (my old Roku Streaming Stick, a Raspberry Pi 4 running Kodi, a 1080p Blu-ray player). When this television is turned on, maybe 25-30% of the time is spent playing games. I use it for lots of other activities. It's not just about resolution and refresh rate.

I have my GeForce 2070 SUPER equipped PC plugged into the 165Hz 32" QHD 1440p monitor. By contrast, this latter/older system is almost exclusively used for gaming but now that I have the LG C1, I'm spending less time with the 2070 even though it is perfectly capable of running older and less taxing games at 1440p.
