What's your latest tech purchase?

Ryzen 5700x, nice upgrade from my Ryzen 5500, can't bring myself to spend £270 on the 5800X3D especially with just a 2080 Super GPU

4k blu rays on a massive sale locally, and I don't intend to pay the monthly fees to subscribe to compressed, constantly throwing ads my way streaming services. so I stocked up on my fav movies and shows, this one was $7. I have no issue watching things I enjoy over again and again, spread out of course. never seen the extended edition of this one... looking forward to it.

once my dad stops paying for netflix, that will be the end of netflix for me too. if they were not so greedy and just kept a steady course, they could have kept their prices low. im not paying 20-25 a month to stream in 4k for lower quality 4k at that.

now next year I will be getting the 4k 32" 240hz monitor OLED's that are coming out. and I can kick back and relax.

A friend of mine from Thailand sent the Martian blu-ray to me years ago... (although yours may be of better quality)..

Wharfedale Sapphire SP-88 speakers - new to me, $80 for the pair. Very happy with them at that price.

It's an excuse to get my amp out of the closet if nothing else, a completely recapped and tested SUMO Andromeda. Way more than we need (or the speakers can handle) but it works. Not a night and day upgrade, but they certainly fill the room more easily than the JBL 305P Mk2 powered monitors we'd been using. The end table TV stand is temporary - I hate it, but we've only been here a week and are still looking for furniture.

Pictures don't do them justice, it's a very pretty dark red veneer, cherry I think.

Go on, push yourself. It's not really difficult.
Courage was probably the wrong word. More like getting out of the chair to actually take it apart. Was done in about 30 minutes. 15 of those was letting the SYY 157 cure before putting it back together.

Could have pasted first and then cut/placed pads while it cured and been done in half the time. :slap:

*edit*

It lives!!!!

Got my sigma in. I’m disappointed because I really wanted the 32gb of ram but went with the 16 because I didn’t want to wait.

I got the wifi and 512gv option. They gave me a WD770 black 500 which surprised me.

I use it as a data drive and put in my 120optane as the main.

this hooks up to my EGPU and it’s what I control my printer with and what runs my 3d scanner.

Not bad, these days those four extra threads thanks to HT will help a lot :)

Because sometimes things still come on a disc and you can't get just readers any more, or at least not this cheap.

Got one in my drawer as well, collecting dust mainly :), but that's because I have a DVD drive on my desktop.
