We've had one of this Philips VHS reader, very close to the model shown on the photo !
The Sony is a French model, I see Canal + and Nicam on it ?
Yes, the Sony seems to be a high end model and in order to test it I managed to find a SCART cable with video and audio out, but although I get a signal, it's only pulling half the tape to the head - the left hand reel lever won't move.
The other two may be beyond repair

Getting a new Wheel. Moza FSR2. It mimics the BMW Hypercar and the Caddy I think. I don't care though. This was half what some other Companies charge for Wheels. I bought it from a site that has Free shipping but the manufacturer wanted $70 for shipping from the EU. Yep that is a touchscreen display.

I bought a refurbished L15 lenovo laptop - Model 20U7S01600

What I learnt from my previous two laptops. You can lookup the serial number and see the first activation date: 2020-11-16 / end of 4 year warranty 2024-11-15

It is a bit annoying to click around until you find the specs.

Most interesting DRAM - lenovo part number: 5M30V06802
Most intersting mainboard - lenovo part number: 5B20W77594 (this makes it clear two dram slot - replaceable)

This is the third laptop I bought from that refurbish company in Austria. Everytime the bios was never updated. I assume the device was shipped with 1.12.

Uefi list: Installed 1.12 / available 1.36

Just for anyone who read this:
Refurbish Windows 11 pro license / license agreement april 2024
bypass Network setup. Shift +f10 in the network setup stage - some guides forget the \ in the special cmd code "OOBE\BYPASSNRO" - all Big O letter not Number 0

edit: winver.exe claims W11 24H2.
edit: Storage drive samsung mzvlb256hbhq-000L7 - seems to be https://www.techpowerup.com/ssd-specs/samsung-pm981a-256-gb.d784
(seems to be m2 2280 nvme https://www.impactcomputers.com/hard-drives-ssd/samsung-mzvlb256hbhq-000l7)

windows settings: OS build: windows 26100.1882 (looks like September 30, 2024—KB5043178 (OS Build 26100.1882) Preview)

20250324_101234.jpg

edit: Left speaker - near the ryzen pro sticker has some sort of distortions when changing the volume level in windows 11 pro.

edit 2: I have to wait a few days for an answer for my email regarding the left speaker. I do not see much difference between the grading. I purchased the worst grading called "fair". There is the better "gut" and there is some other best grading. Except a few very small scratches I do not see anything. I hope I get the speaker. I have to open the device anyway for thermal paste replacement. I also have a corsair mp600 pro 1tb m2 nvme lying around with stock cooler. No idea about the warranty for the corsair nvme - but the cooler has to go when I want to replace the nvme in that notebook. I will have to use some sort of cloning software also - maybe clonecilla or something like that. It makes selling the device or sending the device for repair easier when the original drive is pulled out and replaced instantly. I just initialise windows to check if everything "works" with a quick check.

spare 1tb nvme: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/dat...2-nvme-pcie-gen-4-x4-ssd-cssd-f1000gbmp600pro

Reminds me of my Edge E530. Bought it for the Accu keyboard as I really liked the typing experience on the go.

They released a bunch of BIOS-es to fix fan behaviour. USB 3.0 never really worked properly as far as I remember.

Fairly easy machine for maintenance, just one bottom lid and you can clean the fan, replace RAM, replace ssd.

Be careful how you carry it/ open the lid, left hinge is prone to breaking.

I can see from the number of reactions that there are a few Sim racers in here. We should start a Sim Racing Thread on TPU. With the amount of products that have been released channels like Boosted Media should not be the only source of content. Can any of the staff make an official Sim Racing topic in the main forum page. I mean this same Company released a Yoke and a base for Flight Sims that has force feedback. That means that you will feel turbulence in Flight Sims going forward.

They can't create a subforum if that's what you meant. Only the boss can. Not so long ago we had a discussion about forum skeleton and rearranging subs (the PSU sub was added). Don't waste your time on that. Meanwhile you can make a PC sim club here, and call it a day:

A cart like thingy to lift the case up for ~5cm to make it less prone to dust buildup especially on the PSU intake.
No, this gaming PC is definitely not a mainframe.

And a UHBR20 certified DisplayPort cable, just to see if I can get less DSC between the 7900XTX and the 4K240Hz baby. No it didn’t. The link is on UHBR10 on both the new cable and the long ROG-branded cable (without UHBR20 sticker) included with the display. I kind of expected UHBR13.5 to happen. Oh well.
Yes I know, the usefulness of less DSC is arguable to say the least. Just trying to make use of most capabilities of the hardware I have.

Side note, I have a GameSir Tarantula something that I think I have forgotten to post here. I don’t like the D-pad just because it does a bit of clicky noise, and I have seen some reviews despise its look, but otherwise it’s pretty solid.
It’s pretty much a slightly lengthened modern DualShock style controller with lots of macro keys and a gimmicked L2/R2 trigger.

this ssd, it is amongst the cheapest SSDs in Indian market whereas other so called reputable brand offer 3 year warranty, qlc and dramless in this range (actually a little higher). It excels in these terms with 5yr warranty, TLC and SLC sache.

I have to change my PC controller soon (a classic XBox one) as it shows some passage of time ...

Someone had some success in the controller space due to consoles effectively raising prices on ages old designs that are sloooooooowww. Shows some passage of time was impeccably stated. Even casual games are better when movement doesn't equate with sludge aiming for a 20% error rate due to need for repeated inputs. Or any use of D-Pad.

My suggestion is search for teardown, test, and gamed on reviews from places in the world unlikely to reach a larger audience that have been undertaken by technical minded individuals. Also don't expect resilience to firmware updates or software based programming. In fact I'd highly advise focusing on controllers that lack access to either. Cost is no indicator of quality or lifespan. However there is no escaping your hand size and shape.

They are considered one of the best, if not the best for the price. Hall effect thumb sticks, mechanical switches, non-wireless options, cheap. No personal experience yet, because their best models have that xbox layout I can't stand. But if I ever end up needing that extra controller around, T4 kaleid would be my first choice.
