I love my MSI controller. It is better than the Xbox one controller and half the price.

I have a few questions better placed here than latest purchase.

Did your controller ship with improved rear trigger switches or will you be replacing them?
With full RT/LT trigger range set in software is there a linear and predictable in-game response?
How awful are the six top mounted triggers?
Obviously testing of control sticks means they will have to wait.
the G5 Pro V2 is only configurable with the Android app ... but it work quite well
tho i did not see RT/LT range configuration outside mechanical switches that shorten the trigger course

for the rest ... i can't answer since i got none of the issues reported by youtubers or reddit user ... to the point that i thought it was just down to personal preferences ...
the rear macro button feel good enough.

six top mounted trigger? WDYM?

tbf nothing feel awful about that controller and i can forgive the stick top being plastic with a metallic sleeve being held in place with 2 plastic tabs (not flimsy) rather than the magnetic type of the Elite Series 2

i think the fact that i compare it to the Elite Series 2 is a good statement in itself

not even the lighter weight over the ES2 is detrimental

given the price, i can't fault that controller

My favourite controller is a custom xbox series controller, which i had made by evil controllers - had it made with essentially zero button resistance, which makes it alot easier on my arthritis ridden fingers to game.

Typical four paddle L/R setup plus small inner trigger on both sides. Appears I hit you with too many critical questions.

8bitdo are slowly going towards making smaller controllers. I do not have small hands. Ultimate 2c has a few other undesirable traits this G5 SE revision might improve upon I was willing to press you about. One of the more obvious ones is RT/LT having a tiny range to modulate response in racing games or other situations fine control is desired.

the front trigger are not awful at all ... at least to me, 2 trigger plus 4 buttons all fine

up till now i mainly used Hall effect triggers, so i can't completely comment on optical ... and i never had any issues with the ranges on either ... although gamepad are not really my teacup for racing game ...
i always play with shortened trigger course because i mostly play Shlooter and FPS

the inner M1 and M2 are just perfect for me ... since i rarely use the D-Pad, and i want to keep my left thumb on L1 so, for these left/right up/down the macro pads are perfect, can actually programe complex macro in the app (i don't use other macro ... i just want the D-Pad elsewhere  ) setup turbo (i don't use it) check the stick DZ (round or square ) the app i mention is Keylinker, they don't have a soft for Win, only for the G5 Pro (not the V2 )

since i did not try the G5 or G5 Pro i can't comment on improvement over previous gen

8bitdo always made small controller ...

all in all, that cheap controller feel superior, for me, to the Elite Series 2, specially in fast paced shooter, which is impressive imho, but in reality i just wanted HALL and optical
the only issues i had with controller was with one with HALL stick and trigger which interfered with each other sometime (having stick drift forward on something that should not have stick drift ... is interesting tho  )

and i am kinda bear pawed ... the Duke of the OG Xbox was my all time favorite controller for the size

Basically I'm trying to keep the low latency and +1K polling rate which means type C wired even if marketed as wireless. Those M triggers are also a must for exact reason you mentioned.

Your new controller is very close and has US availability.
