She's solid, I've got it tight as a drum at this point. I didn't upgrade to win11 until I was done benching, tweaking and testing everything on win10. Smooth as silk until I installed w11 and started installing software. I'll figure it out eventually...or go back to w10 hahaha. I kid, I'm committed. The new CPU has forced my hand.

Indeed dpi over a point messes stuff up
I wouldn't go over 115-120% dpi before and then largest icon

But now outside of gaming I just scale off a smaller monitor it seems the easiest way to get around the silliness with large monitor view restrictions and leave dpi at 100%
Best thing is I can see everything from 16 foot away easily
Yes everything gets bigger but the bugs don't appear and if I want to game I just disconnect the smaller monitor and all is normal on large screen.

The biggest issue with DPI scaling is that non integer values make icons blurry. Fortunately I find 200% scaling is the perfect size for a 27 Inch 4K monitor.

It seems like the opposite of what you'd want, it's got no ability to get any security updates whatsoever without an OS reinstall

comments on the youtube channel indiciates it wont get any updates whatsoever, not just no major ones - unless someone verifies it, that may include drivers etc too. The guy disabled a lot.

For it to be online it has to send DNS requests, period.

I am just running a stock install, nothing really done to it except to make it look how I like, and some startup tweaks. I don't do anything with my computer, I am boring to spy on... at least on this machine

Honestly, we deserve to get screwed hard by the government with such people around.

Luckily lots of people make it easy for us knobs to get rid of lots of questionable traits of MS design :cool:

Look at it this way
Windows has to go online and contact remote servers to do things like

Verify the time and date
Check activation status
check installed vs available updates

And yet people are shocked, SHOCKED i tell you that this requires internet acccess and contacting remote servers?

The moment you use things tied into the MS app store, they all share the same background windows code for various things that'll show up as generic MS services and networking - go play halo and it'll look like windows traffic

I feel a lot of peoples fear and paranoia on these topics are just because they were never aware of how all this crap worked in the past and that it's been like this for a long long time

Speaking of, all the so called suspicious tracking/advertisement domains mentioned in that article? They probably come from the widgets being fully Internet enabled and downloading stuff like news articles, weather data, etc.
So not necessarily Windows broadcasting the system itself to advertisers and other people, but rather the news widgets downloading the news.

A clean install off 11 had some weird popup for me about a road closure, i clicked it and it went off an estimate for my location that was really really off - so yeah, it had to have ran a fair bit of traffic and contacting a bunch of servers to try and figure out where i am, download news and weather etc - and all of that would have amounted to a lot of weird looking traffic that's 100% bill gates trying to snoop on my webcam

Good example what happens if one doesn't use apps/ wedgets..
If I liked popups I wouldn't use ublock origin in my browser so until there is ublock origin for the os I'll remove bulks of apps.. I never intend on using :cool:

Define "Spied on"
The automatic time and date feature requires to know my location accurate enough to get the time zone done, so does that need to be disabled because its tracking you?

The problem here is that some people get all upset about being spied on, when they've got zero clue what any of this tracking and telemetry data is, what it's used for, and who can see it - and getting all upset with zero knowledge of the issue isn't some security moral high ground, it's base level paranoia and fear mongering

instead of trusting the guy who says "here run this tool to disable half your OS, i promise its safe wink wink" go get wireshark and track all the data yourself, and block shit in your router you have a problem with
