My Intel 8th gen dual core Dell laptop handled a clean install of win 11 just fine in 2022. no Rufus, just an official clean install from Microsoft and it works fine still my friend says that I gave it to

Windows Processor Requirements

This specification details the processors that can be used by OEMs to manufacture Customer Systems that include Windows Products (including Custom Images).

Microsoft has a list of compatible CPUs for 22H2 and 23H2 versions of Windows that is separate from the list for the original Windows 11 (21H2), you're better off checking for the specific processor model yourself.

I am seeing at least some 8th gen Core processors there, tho, so it should be good I guess, workarounds should be still good in any case

If I wanted an OS that’s set in stone and unalterable by user I would be on MacOS.

The specs microsoft spouts are one thing. In reality? A first gen Core i3 dual core, 4gb of system RAM and at least a 2GB dGPU would be enough for a smooth experience.

Hi,
Yep win-10 needs far fewer tweaks
Start menu included seeing it can be easy resized to show all apps without third party tools.
Ribbon I used office 2007 so I sort of got used to it although I never liked it as much as simple win-7 explorer/.... maybe the dots need to be longer line hehe :laugh:

windows 11 start menu is so laggy and it's a mess compared to this in linux
This menu is much simpler, quicker, and faster.... and no bullshit bloaty floaty menus with what seems to be programmed delay that windows 11 seems to have

Things would get weird here. Would stay on a customizable version of 11 for as long as was feasible and then I'd likely just go to Linux full time for online activities and keep my Windows machines offline. At that point I would move any systems that support it back to Win7.

Or get an ATM with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 till and use it till Jan 13, 2032...

So :
disabling this service (netprofm), makes the screen have 1 frame black (it doesn't displays anything, black screen) then 1 frame displaying screen (i say 1 frame but i can't count frames)...
Also, it loads longtime at login, and as screen blinks it's hard to use double click, or select a thing makes it to be unselected at next blink (more than 1 by sec). It's unusable.

Anyway i could (always) use CTRL+ALT+SUP then CTRL+Click on login's reboot button to choose "emergency" to be able to "safeboot" at next reboot
In safemode re-enable this service fixes all problems.

I returned to services, and found some remnants, as i only play games there, i disable most services as possibly.

EDIT: done, i deactived the ones with green.
