OFFICIAL World Of Tanks

I think my ideal spot of this game belongs to tiers 5-7, enough differentiation between tanks but still able to avoid large losses.
Yep, that's the sweet spot of WoT nowadays.

I can raise the bar until Tier 8 tough. I'm playing my T8 ESL tanks (AMX 90, 100 and T32) along with my T8 brits and my T34 and usually MM is very friendly with me as top dog, rarely against one or two Tier 9 and extremely rare against Tier 10.
And icing on the cake is that I don't see arty in those games. One arty from time to time. Two/three arty's are very-very rare.

So why bother in Tier 9/10? I want to play for fun not for rage. :D
When I want to play with big boys I'm taking my T8 arty's or my Object 268. No headaches.

Do not go down the chinese light tree... theyre mm'd as scouts... so tier 6's fighting tier 10's... They're too big, slow, un-maneuverable, cant penn for shit to be scouting at that level.

Just had this Hellcat. Top Gun, Sniper, Master Gunner. 6 kills, 1861 damage.

Heh, seem to be in tune with my matilda now.. got my first 5 kill match. I lasted all the way to the end after the rest of my team got killed, I was on less than 10% health, blasted him down to under 50, and he finally finished me off. I've learned the matilda's strengths and weaknesses. Must stay behind and guard the base. Only go ahead if the team is making progress. It has a big gun, that does a lot of damage in one shot. It has heavy armor. It is very slow, hence the staying behind at first logic. Churchill is next... should be a blast!

There's a better post of my stats...

Anyone know when this happens? I all the sudden get 5x XP for first victory. Got it on 2 of my tanks in one sitting....

That just means you don't visit your server's homepage regularly and was thus unaware of a weekend event.

Oh and another record for WoT SEA apparently, as there were now at least 11k players online last night. There are also ads in daily newspapers for the game over here as well, with new account bonus codes included.

Yes, another friend made me aware of this. We are trying to scrape funds together to form a clan. Will take a bit longer, but will happen! If I hadn't bought a stupid keyboard this month, I'd have more gold, and I'd be tier V by now, and have bought a clan... arg.

Crusader is crazy powerful :o

I thought it will be a dud (according to forum people), but I think this tank is as good as it gets for go karts: Reasonable effective damage against its opponents (with exception of mad beasts like Churchills), acceleration and top speed enough to outrun people who can kill you, and just enough to chase down your prey. To me, a perfect balance between armour, speed and attacking options. The only problem with is is that if your team collapses it can't do much to affect the outcome, but in close matches its a game changer. If your team has an advantage, the Crusader is going to multiply that by a few times.

Played more Crusader matches, I retract what I have said earlier about its weakness. It can and will affect the outcomes of the matches. From initial scouting, to supporting the entire map to shredding opponent's armour, there is nothing I can't do with it. Just enough speed, adequate mobility, good gun depression, insane rate of fire and the stealth of a passive scout, anyone is a target. If I am playing at top tier (with lots of tier 4 and a smattering of tier 3) then its a "shoot the ducks" game. Against tier 7 opponents it can still dish out a lot of punishment to unsuspecting opponents on top of cleaning the battlefield of go karts and arty hunting.

Fourstaff's miniguide to Crusader:
1. Scout to halfline, and make a fast retreat. Make sure you don't get hit, so if you fail to see anything don't worry it means there is nothing there.
2. Drive around in circles between the half and third line, pick off the suiciding scouts.
3. Mediums and lights would have already start their initial skirmish: this is the hardest part. move close enough to give a shot or two, but make sure you don't get shot at all cost. Being the receiving end of a shot will almost certainly mean a broken module or a dead crew, dead commander is fine but a dead driver/gunner will cause massive problems. Heal those two asap, repair gun/engine if needed. Damage to the rest like tracks or turret is usually non critical.
4. Heavies arrive and start slugging out. If you have survived this long mostly intact (no module/crew damage, 1/2 health gone, etc) then you are in a good shape to finish the game at or near the top of the list. Support as necessary. This will mostly involve sniping from ~200m, then scooting off to another part of the map to support that flank.
5. While the heavies are busy peekabooming, the mediums will be trying to flank and such. This is the golden time to find a gap, slip through and wreck havoc on the back lines. Not all maps are suitable for this, but if the opportunity arises you should take it. If there is none, continue sniping and doing general annoying things. Don't worry about non penetration, your opponents do not know what hit them, and will be more cautious/annoyed than they should be. Make sure you don't spend too much time doing this, precious dps can and should be used elsewhere where your shots actually go through and translate to damage.
6. Cleanup. Self explanatory, if you managed to punch through and wreck the TD/arty line then its just shooting heavy from behind, if you are still within your team's control zone, then its just zooming forward and cleaning up everything else. Very few TDs can keep up with your circling, so don't be afraid to engage lone ones.

Equipment:
Camo, rammer and either vents/EGLD, binocs, or equipment of choice

Crew skills:
your favourite, although 6th sense is very much appreciated. I find the tank already capable enough not to bothered with things like off road driving, smooth ride etc, but they can be used to for even better handling. Make sure the crew skills line up with equipment, eg camo training + camonet + binocs, vents+BIA etc.

Lastly, if you get the attention of one or more tanks, just sit behind cover and let your teammates mop them up. if those tanks decide to change target, pop out and give them a shot or two, when they turn back to face you go back to cover. As a corollary, make sure you move in such a way that when they decide to come out and hunt you down, your teammates will cover you well enough that you should at most receive a shot before the suicidal tank retires from the battle. Similarly, if a derptank is bumrushing you, make sure you use your 21kph retreat and pray his shot misses.

Edit: so what about losing matches?
You can't do much if your team decides to do a lemming rush. Just make sure you cover the undefended flank long enough for the lemming train either to force through with the sheer amount of tanks, or fail miserably. As usual, move to the 1/2 line, but this time stay close to that. Take a shot at the lead tank, and then make a slow retreat from cover to cover. Standoff (both sides sitting behind cover and not shooting) as long as you can. Because your opponents will be focusing all their attention on you, there is a good chance you will die before long.

What if the opponent is holding an advantage and slowly building on it?
This is where the Crusader shines again: the ability to whittle down that advantage. Overconfident opponents with advantage will usually play a bit more aggressively than they will normally have, providing ample opportunity for you to whittle down their health and numbers from relative safety. A game changer if you ask me: KV1 can only derp one vehicle before he gets swarmed, whereas the Crusader will just slaughter the weakest, and then make a quick retreat to the next safespot to pick off a few more. It will not be unusual for a Crusader in a team down 10:5 to pick off at least 4 opponent before going down, provided the surviving ones are not armoured beasts.

So I just got the big gun on the SU-14... O! M! G!

That thing is awesome. I can deal damage again. Though accuracy is very bad, so it is very random at long ranges.

I may not have died, but it's still quite bad.

You need to invest in some equipment to really get the best out of it, reduce aiming time and increase load speed and you will notice a difference.

As for the crusader...... my little old T21 took dozens of them out, never really struck me as much good simply because they died easy.

Never particularly liked the Crusader, but I did well enough in it I guess. With the Cromwell though, it's too 'extreme' for me, I either do brilliantly or die easily, rarely anything in between.

If you can see and shoot the Crusader then he is playing it wrong

The brutal Panther training has taught me how to live in the fog of war, patiently stalk the prey and only show up to kill/ do damage and rapidly fade into the mist again. Its so satisfying to see those KV1 and derptanks aiming their gun at my general direction but could never pinpoint where I am shooting them from. Those who did will find themselves firing at nothing as I have scooted off to my next target. The fact that it doesn't command any respect in the battlefield at all makes me like this tank more than I should: I have tanks like wolverine having a shootoff at 150m (I won with more than half of my health intact), nailed 20 shots into a KV1 before he finally exploded (he missed 2 shots from 100m, such a bad player), polished 1/2 health off a KV1S before he even bothered to turn his barrel at me (he thinks my KV1S ally around the corner is a bigger threat than me). Managed to kill a Churchill 1 and a Cromwell this way too: they were busy killing a "dangerous" KV2.

Finally formed clan to play with my friends. Got premium, and got my churchhill tank:

Why, what's bad about that? Not sure I understand.
Edit, always have to have people who shadow you and flame
you for no reason. The trick is to keep cool, and allow them
to be the idiots they are.

Seeing as I play WoT a lot. I would LOVE to get the Gold and premium from that bundle. If I didn't upgrade to a 7850 a little while ago this would have swayed me to go with a Nvidia card.

Yes, the 7500 gold and 1 month premium is very cool. Helped me get tier 5, and my clan. You know how you hear that "tick tick tick" just before a match, and you get to blow away things?

The point was that you got the free bundle from Nvidia. I won't be getting a new card (much less cards) anytime soon. And I don't know of anyone looking to buy an Nvidia card anytime soon.

Who cares, it was my client who bought it. No skin off my nose! When good things come your way, you just do a little skip, and say, yes bitch!

Sometimes it's how the opposition play that dictates where you find yourself, if you are up against a scout that is lets say tier 6, is VERY quick, manouverable and has a decent gun, who likes to "sortie" into the front line then quietly withdraw, who has a longer viewing range than you, no matter what your tactics are you "may" come a cropper! If everyone played their machines perfectly every battle would be a draw! :rockout: Actually thats wrong because some tanks are just simply better than others, usually it's the tanker that makes them bad.

Yup there are times where you will just meet a good tier 6/7 light/fast medium which completely dominate your puny tank. In those games you will just have to retire early :ohwell:
