What kind of board has both DDR2 and DDR3 slots? How did they manage that?
Here im right in thinking that to do dual channel you need 2 sticks?

I remember that board! I say just pickup the dual kit, 90% of end users/games don't need more than 4GB.

2 memory controllers (can only use one at a time - therefore i remove DDR2 and put in the spare rig), put an f3 in this rig (move the deathstar over to the spare rig) and buy a CD/DVD for the spare rig

it's always good to have some space even u don't use it, i got 3 Samsung F1 1TB myself and i will be changing them to 2 Western Digital Green 2TB's when i got the money for them.

and i will say it's stupid not to paid the extra £3 for 750gb more and get a faster drive aswell.

that special offers passed now, i can get a 500gb f3 for £28 (SCAN) or a 1tb hitachi (EBUYER) for £36 however from what i understand the hitachi is a 5 platter so its gonna be slow and its more expensive, i'll probably get the 500gb and by the time i need more SSD's will be cheap or i'll go RAID
