XFX Launches Custom RX Vega 56 and Vega 64 Double Edition Graphics Cards

The uglier the better, usually, lol....

I'm sorry, it's ugly. I'm not going to make analogies, it just is.

No wonder it took so long with those cutout and fancy shroud. But the end result, its butt ugly. Can they made something simple, IMO I really dig AMD reference cooler on Vega, simple black shroud and fan, nothing fancy.

We need price and review XD

I'd like to see black with chrome.....

Not sure I like it. Looks like a Bra.

Not that there is anything wrong with Bra's. Just not on GPU's for me.

Heh, sure as hell doesn't look like any bra I would like to wear

Of course there's something wrong with bras. There's a reason we take them off whenever we get the chance :D

I'm not sure if you're a woman or not, but trust me when I say you pretty much spoke for all of us with that comment lol. Bravo :D

As for this particular card, it's freakin' hideous. The only things that even remotely save it from capturing the Ugly GPU Crown are the carbon fiber look (and yet even this makes it look even worse for some reason) and the backplate. Everything else makes it look cheap and uninspired, especially the fans.

I'm just a guy speaking from the heart ;)

Looks better than any Founders Edition card,
oh yeah absolutely

Funny to see so many people commenting on how ugly this is. Not like back in the days when people cared about performance instead of looks . Ofcourse if you are in the teenager room with RGB case and window; sure this is not the prettiest card around but even then what you only see 3x20 cm side of the cooler and the card will proberbly look really simular to a strix or the likes. ill take performance of a cooler any time over looks. The size of the cooler i assume it will perform rather sweet (if they havent f***ed something up. Ill prepare for the waves of hate for writing this, i know youngsters are amoungst the users! :D

gaming pcs are nothing more than toys so it might as well be something pretty not an eyesore.

It humors me when people who don't like the whole RGB thing automatically assume the people that do like it are teenagers or children. Or people that appreciate aesthetics (in addition to performance) are somehow petty and childish too. I'm 31, and I care about aesthetics just as much as I care about performance. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm warming up to the whole RGB craze too, although in some cases (like with Corsair's RGB headphone stand) it is a little stupid and worthless. If a person wants RGB lighting everywhere on their rig, by all means, but I don't think that makes them childish or anything. It's what THEY like.

Getting back to the card, it's ugly, just admit it. :D

Still going to buy a Vega 56. Who gives a $hit what it looks like? If it cools well and performs well, I will be happy.

I have to agree with this attitude.

The stepped design and carbon fiber texture makes it looks like badly extruded 3D print pieces.

that remind me of what one of my teacher told me in school : there is a weird relationship between aesthetic and high performance. If a formula one, jet fighter, or all those fast vehicle happens to be so pleasant to the eye it's because every inch was made by following the golden ratio who happens to ensure both the best aerodynamics and aesthetic. (yes , you can make something look pretty by using science).
If something looks clunky it's not weird to think that it wouldn't be a great performer, lots of people are actually conditionned to think this way because of what I've said earlier. That must be why high end gaming hardware are getting so overworked since this decade.
Now the issue with this gpu is that they tried really hard to do something "special" and it ended up ugly while having nothing that could let us think that it's going to benefit the cooling or the noise.

No word on pricing eh?

You know what you never see any manufacturer produce GPU HSF's taller they make then longer (requiring 3 fans) or fatter (requiring 2.5~3 slots) but never taller or never tall enough to use 120mm fans

take this thing for example they could have used 2x120mm fans on it just by extending the top most edge of the cooler by 20~30mm but no they still uses weird sized fans on them

The only eyesore is the one who said it in this quote above.

At least it uses 2 slots and not 3.

Well said, i love led astetics if done right and not like a blinking disco light strobing up the room, and yup I agree, looks....well NASTY! it should be named the double Nasty from XFX...

If I had a card like that I'd have the window on the side of my case covered... Like a double bagger if ppl get what I mean lol

My god this looks cheap and plasticky. 2010 wants its shroud back...

Shame.
