After giving its Dark Knight SD1283 a pitch-black color-scheme with the Nighthawk Edition released last April, XIGMATEK announced availability of its polar opposite color scheme, the Frostbourne Edition. The aluminum-alloy fin tower-type heatsink's fins, three 8 mm-thick U-shaped heatpipes that make direct contact with the CPU, and the included fan, bear a matte white finish. The fins feature XIGMATEK's Stealth ceramic coating, which works to increase surface area for heat dissipation. The cooler is designed to handle TDP of up to 160W.

Measuring 120 x 50 x 159 mm (WxDxH) heatsink-only, and weighing 406 g, the Dark Knight SD1283 Frostbourne Edition includes an XOF-F1251 120 mm fan with 4-pin PWM connector. It spins in the range of 800 and 1,400 RPM, pushing up to 60 CFM of air, with a company rated noise output under 16 dBA. The cooler supports nearly all modern client CPU socket types, including Intel LGA2011, LGA1155/LGA1156, LGA775; AMD AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2, and FM2/FM1. The Dark Knight SD1283 is expected to be priced around the $50 mark.

this is not dark night this is day morning

it looks really good,

nice painting (and may be its design looks cool) but 50$ buck for only 3 heatpipes? i prefer to choose thermaltake frio over this hsf :)

that's sexy as hell, but does it perform well....

Keeping dust off from tarnishing the finish will be a big challenge.

Pretty sure the Nighthawk beats the Frio, so unless the new fan is that much worse for temperatures it should beat the Frio as well.

dang! and i was kidding around the other day about white pcb and hsf.
I think it looks great but honestly, it'll look tacky if you don't have proper lighting or keep it clean.

white PCB's, did a manufacturer just her that??!! WHITE MOTHERBOARDS, WHITE GRAPHICS CARDS.......DOOOO IT!!

It's amazing what gets PC enthusiasts all excited...

For a few dollars more the Xigmatek dual level heatpipe Aegir 128264 is a far more capable HSF. Adding a second fan to the Aegir has lowered full load temps an additional ~5-6C. It doesn't come in white however, just nice shiny silver. :)

that's fucking sweet, why isn't it mainstream??

looks weird thats why :p

on topic: 50$ for 3 heatpipes? no thanks..

looks like white chocolate candies mobo and card. lol

The whacko color schemes are a big deal for some folks. You can pair your White Dark Knight (stupid names) with your orange and black Giga mobo and your yellow PSU inside your blue PC case and have a really fugly concoction of crap.
