Xigmatek Introduces Elysium Big-Tower in ''9XL'' Format

Not big enough. Not nearly big enough. This is not much bigger and is actually smaller than cases that Thermaltake and Cooler Master are putting out and have been for years. Listen, I want a case large enough to fit myself in there in case of a nuclear attack. You know, like Indiana Jones in that fridge. Until then this thing don't deserve the "Big Tower" moniker.

Seriously though, few centimeters here and there over competition, at most, means jack! And more steel please. I hate it when the smallest bump leaves a dent. I know that everyone is into aluminum these days because they bought into marketing bs (they cool your components and increase your prowess in bed!!!!) Simply put, aluminum cases are cheaper to machine and they can be transported in larger quantities tonnage-wise over-seas from China, again saving even more money when it comes to freight cargo calculus. Everything else is marketing at work.

Hehe i found some thing to cut on it and that's those fan protectors as that stupid mesh block around 70% of the air flow.



Yeah was not much for the window. I would of liked to make one were i wanted it as there's is to high for were i want mine.

Reason being my graphic card has a fan were you expect but has 2 side fans which suck the air from the card.

Don't even count that as modding any-more

I even take the grills etc off my psu.

Nice case, bit more polishing and cuting and it will be perfect. Looks great for modding.

SilverStone had only two nice examples of case.. TJ-07 (which is probably one of most modified) and RV-01. Rest is far from nice.. And Lian-Li manufacturing is better than Silverstone, for same or lower price (I own both SilverStone and Lian-Li case).

Elysium looks bit like Lian-Li, just way cheaper considering size.

Looks better than most other materials used in pc cases and gives it a solid feel. Some don't bother with a exquisite case but for some it's supposed to be as elegant as any other piece of furniture in the room. Others are into cheap looking shiny cold cathode plastic things, race stripes, game and manufacturer logos, etc... to each their own, I wouldn't be caught dead owning one of those shiny tacky things.

I for instance bought my case thinking I wont change it during the next 10 years or even more.

same here, i love my cmstacker and has lasted me about 6 years now i reckon, still looks nearly new even with a lot of abuse over the years

you would be suprised how much easier a case with spare room is to work in, i hated small cases then i got mine and fit everything in with ease....it's great

This case has awesome cable management potential, could get a really clean system with this case, features are nothing special tbqh the inside looks like an antec 1200 with extra cable management holes.

Aluminum weighs less. I like the idea of being able to go to a LAN party without having to carry 50+ pounds of equipment. I will, however, admit that I'm not exactly strong.

my case is aluminum but my pc still weghs 50+ lbs.

I've been waiting for a case that looked similar and about the same size as the 800D, the black model is pretty close, but I hope it doesn't cost as much as a new 800d. I can't wait for some reviews on this beast.

I agree with more steel , aluminium is the cheaper easier to work with metal and people pay more for it aawell lol

Uhhh yea. I think he missed his review date.......by those same "next few days" he mentioned..........in February.

Why is the larger a case gets there is a proportional increasing in ugliness? This has got to be the first case to break that law. I'd rather have a single large 200 something mm fan up front. Of all the things I don't care too much for in the HAF series the large ~200mm fans (except the 912 on the side) is something they got right. I plug all 3 with the 140mm on to my board and slow them down, leave the NH-D14 passive, and you have a new standard for silent gaming my friends. Now, if they would have just put dust filters in the 932 from the go I don't think I would have a large desire to get rid of it.

Anyway now that, that is out of me......really excited that someone else could design a large "HAF X" type case without taking it to be ugly forest first so the entire forest could fall on it.......yes I have a HAF 932. Every time I look at it my eyes bleed............yes I said bleeeeeeed and yea, its like the sprinkler in your front yard.

30lbs is pretty heavy for an aluminum case.

Its aluminium outside.. it will be from steel inside. Though, I guess not that much steel as on TJ-07.

its a 41 minute in depth review on the case.

TTL seems to like the case a lot for watercooling, which is what I'm mainly interested in using it for.

After seeing that video, and the comments TTL has to make about it, it seems its going to solve my want for a case that can hold at least 2 120.3 rads in it for a dual loop setup.
