Oh heck don't worry about it. Vista Gamer Edition is a stripped down version of Vista Ultimate 64bit. It does not come with widgets or whatever those apps are called, it also does not alt+tab or window+tab in 3D like normal Vista does... it should run smoother because of this however...

... it is garbage, i believe. I've noticed it gets hung up when i browse files, or open too many windows it can sometimes freeze for a sec. It does boot to desktop fast but i don't care about that anymore, i'm going to switch to Windows 7 over the christmas break when i'm done school. I'm through with giving Vista a chance. So please even thought it may seem appealing DON'T GET IT, anyone who says extreme gamers or whatever use it is lying, get something stable... i'm hoping 7 will do that, i've herd promising things about it.

If you wanna know more just ask, no worries.

^^ I know it's always Microsoft. ;)

Isn't that base clock a bit high for an even multi? I've heard that they don't perform very well.

Regarding the i7 in specific the base clock is not unusually high. I have seen base clocks up to 215MHz on water cooled systems. Now the multiplier, being at 20x, is out there, people say 19x and 21x (with turbo on) is more stable but requires more voltage (i think it is the vCore that needs fine tuning with that one especially).

But to answer your question no not really, here is a link to a form on the site which has stable i7 overclocks listed with base clock and multiplier: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=95485
