A couple weeks ago I got a 4000D airflow off amazon for about € 80 (prime day sale). Time to retire the old Xaser III.
It's a beatiful case, extremely simple but well built. The sheet metal feels a bit thin but honestly at that price some compromises need to be done.
I've moved both the provided fans to front top and mid, added another two to front bottom and exhaust (arctic F12).

Agree. I have the white one, bought from sale about two years ago for 73EUR.

How is that case? Considering getting one myself for my new build later this month.
Honestly? I love it. It does take some care to wire up, but once you are there it’s great.

@TheLostSwede when it comes time to upgrade you case, just make sure you browse the current deals before you buy. I was never expecting to own a NZXT H710 for example, but it was listed brand new shipped and sold by Amazon last year at 59.99, all metal, thick metal too, keeps my cpu and gpu at 60 Celsius for both of them oddly enough, the cable management was absolutely insane, they tucked away every little cable perfectly before they shipped it to me, the dust filter does a great job and is magnetic latch so easy to clean, I plan to use this case for next 20 years, still can't believe it was 60 bucks. I like the NZXT aesthetical look too.

Two biggest things I like is the tempered glass is higher quality than other cases, has innovative way of taking it off that I find nicely done, the back panel comes off with a button push too, no screws, which I find epic personally. It's heaviest case I have ever owned is probably only downside, but I mean once my rig is setup I won't move it again for a very long time, so not end of world. Corsair cases are good too, but to my knowledge they don't do cable management on their cases before shipping it out to you. The 3 front fans and rear fans were professionally done on the cables, it was tidiest clean look I ever seen in my life, and made me realize how much I absolutely suck at cable management lol

I don't buy the case based on price, I buy it based on features.

Besides, glass side = no go for me.

Cleaning day. Also, I'll try to move the radiator to the top after lubing the fans (also, F*** YOU Thermaltake for not having a removable gasket on them)

I got the one with glass on both sides.. whoops..

Its actually pretty tough.. I occasionally lay the case down on it. Not too often though. If I do its on some rubber bar thingys that my case sits on.

I did drop the glass by accident on the kitchen floor once.. then the table.. it just bounced thankfully lol.

Some guys say its a cheap case, I think its fairly well thought out. You just have to be logical with your placement during the initial build, and after that it noice.

I did seal off the main chamber from the top chamber at the front with Gorilla tape, as well as the metal face of the case, specifically around the fans.

You can do a fully loaded build, and have the glass close nicely, but it takes a little time.. just like with anything else.

@Kissamies
aah, good ol eisbaer.
on mine, only rad/hoses are left..

@FoulOnWhite
not sure if still true, but i remember the pump had "issues", most preferring a D5 clone, rather than a (genuine) DDC.
cant recall why/what, as once i "discard" a part from my wish/option list, i scrap all related info.
just too much data on my gray drive, when you get old defrag is important :D

@TheLostSwede
why no glass?

Each to their own, it's just not for me and they have a full metal case, so that part is all good.
I don't care to show off my parts and the glass just adds cost and a risk that it might get damaged.

You've been lucky, the next time it might shatter, as glass has a tendency to do after having been dropped a few times. Fingers crossed you don't up with a mess.

How is it a cheap case? I mean, maybe compared to the full-size one, but that takes up too much space, hence what I was interested in the compact.

Just swapped out my pump/res/top so i can use the new DDC4.2 i bought. The other top/res i had was too small(imo) The DDC 4.2 is a mental pump, flow with my loop is crazy on 100% The metal cover on the pump has nice airflow over it too, so should stay nice and cool. I might stick a temp sensor to it and connect it to the OCTO fan controller. Just waiting on a AQ next flow sensor coming too.

You mean your pump is going at a 100%? Isn't that crazy loud?
Mine only runs at 20% but I do have 2 and they are an older version.

as long as its tempered, not an issue (outside dropping), as i have (multiple times)
said down on half of them by accident (when laying flat on chair), and im +90kg

@P4-630
i tend to scratch anything not glass, and im picky, so i cant "un-see" even the smallest (scratch),
so its glass-only for me.. :D

No, it's at 61%. at 100% the flow is crazy fast though, and a bit noisier. For safety i have the connection from the OCTO to my PS/on on the MB so if the pump drops to 0 it switches the PC off. I could probably get away with it even slower though, not sure. Do you have a flow sensor? I am just waiting delivery of the AQ next.

I do have a Barrow DDC copy, the rotor is more D5 than DDC, it is a pretty good pump though.

Can't say i have heard of a problem with the new DDC4.2.

How is it a cheap case?
There was complaints from people about the top of the case being plastic, same with the front..

But I have had my case open and closed at least 200 times lol and everything still snaps together nice and tight :cool:

No, I use a BP flow meter, a temp sensor that technically measure the fitting, and HWinfo64 through Stream deck to see cpu/gpu etc. temps.

I have my water temp sensor in a top spare fitting hole on the EK XE rad. When the Flow sensor high flow NEXT comes i guess i will have 2 water temp sensors. I am only using Aida64 onscreen for my display, but i do like that Stream deck idea.

Finished the cleanup, and after it scared the shit out of me (and I solved it by shaking the radiator at the highest point with the PC upside-down), it's up and running again.

No, I use a BP flow meter, a temp sensor that technically measure the fitting, and HWinfo64 through Stream deck to see cpu/gpu etc. temps.

Here is a couple of pics of the barrow pump. Notice the rotor is more like a D5, but the pump mounts like a DDC. it is a very good pump, though reliability wise i don't have a clue.

@TheLostSwede my last case was no glass, the Corsair silent padded foam on all panels edition, Corsair 110q. I still have this case in the garage. It just increased my temps too much to my liking. Plus with the giant 14" silver all metal gpu and icey metallic silver cpu heatsink, and my 3d printed dragon, I really like looking over at my case now. No rgb or lights in my case. It's very sleek looking.

Honestly it's the 3d printed dragon that makes it, I got d20 die the dragon is holding underneath too, looks epic - that being said everyone likes different things, 4000d is a good option for sure. :toast:

There was complaints from people about the top of the case being plastic, same with the front..

But I have had my case open and closed at least 200 times lol and everything still snaps together nice and tight :cool:
Same with a lot of cases these days though, so nothing odd there imho.

I've had multiple Corsair cases and yeah, Sally their old silent ones had a bit too restrictive airflow when all the hatches were battered down. I usually popped the top off when gaming.

lol, doesnt mean its "years" of dirt.

i lived 500ft from a major hwy, and my rig looked "not cleaned for a year" after about 4 weeks.

ppl should get a small air cleaner for the room its in, or build one using a box fan and a MERV 10 pleaded filter of same size.
now i only need to do dusting every couple of month...
