Being intel, you might as well sell the mobo and ram for ddr5 parts.

Alder Lake has indeed 1700 Pins. but the socket has 1800 Pins.
Z690 motherboards have 1700 pins. LGA-18XX is written on the Cover, because the metal CPU retainer mechanism is also compatible with LGA 18XX socket.

Similar approach was done during LGA 115X and LGA 1200. Even if the pin layout was increased they kept the socket dimensions same and didn't change the ILM.

it's almost 3AM but i took a photo of a Socket and counted the pins... :kookoo:
it's 1700 in the current socket. (i came to 1711 but i guess i counted a few pins double or something similar)

You don't have to count. If LGA 1700 is written on the CPU and motherboard, it has 1700 pins - period. This is part of INTEL's naming style; giving names to the sockets that shows the number of the pins in them. You can count if / when INTEL decides to change this naming style.

FFS what is with the idiocy in this thread? It's called LGA1700 because it has 1700 pins. If it had 1800 pins it would be called LGA1800, and it's not.

Then we have people doubling down on their stupidity and using random Chinese websites to substantiate their obviously completely wrong claim that it's not 1700 pins...

Thank you @quanash for being one of the few voices of sanity here.

why is every single of your replies in almost any topic either insulting or aggressive?
i never "claimed" something. i was interested in it because in this case Raptor Lake is socket compatible but may! be an LGA 1800 CPU. i counted the pins because several sources claimed something different.
and you imediately appear out of nowhere (as usual) to find someone to insult and attack when something is not correct.

Because I'm tired of seeing people disseminate information that is COMPLETELY incorrect, and doubling down on their incorrectness when they're told otherwise. Apart from being stupid, it confuses and wastes the time of those who are looking for the actual facts.

You were only willing to accept that LGA1700 has 1700 pins (well, lands) after counting the number in the physical socket, despite being provided with multiple sources over multiple posts showing that your claim that it has 1800 lands was completely wrong. Do you also believe that the Earth is flat and will only be convinced otherwise if you go into space and see it is round? What shameful and foolish behaviour.
