ZOTAC Slims Down its RTX 2080 Ti ArcticStorm to Single-Slot

ZOTAC showed off a new variant of its GeForce RTX 2080 Ti ArcticStorm liquid-cooled graphics card that's slimmed down to single-slot dimensions. This card is practically identical to the original (pictured below), but sacrifices one of its DisplayPorts to have just one row of output connectors, namely two DisplayPorts and one each of HDMI 2.0b and USB-C VirtualLink. The factory-fitted full-coverage water block is unchanged from the original, as are the factory-overclocked speeds of 1575 MHz GPU Boost and untouched 14 Gbps GDDR6 memory.

Why? This is a water cooler. You are talking about air coolers. If you want the best performance air coolers, more material and more surface is the way to get to quieter and higher performance cooling. I've had a 3 slot 1080 from Palit and it was beautifully quiet. Nothing crazy about it.

Umm no I don't think so. I have the Sapphire Vega 64 which is a triple slot card and has 3 fans of which the smallest is 90mm. The card would get so hot that I could realistically fry an egg on the back plate. I replaced it with a Water block and the card went from 3 slots to 1 and the card never goes above 62 C under intense gaming with another Vega 64 in the loop. The fans on the radiator run at 650 RPM for all 12.

Well Vegas are really electric radiators in disguise, so nothing particularly strange there...

So your water cooler was better than an air cooler, and that somehow proves that large air coolers aren't better than small ones? Your logic is off.

No I am saying that in no way does an air cooler works better or runs quieter than a water cooled card. It would defeat the purpose of that market if it were not true.

But the post you were arguing against to said nothing of the sort, just that if you want the best air cooler it needs to be large. Nobody here has said that air cooling performs better than water cooling.
