Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the Venus graphics processor, in its Venus XT variant, the chip supports DirectX 12. The Venus graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 123 mm² and 1,500 million transistors. It features 640 shading units, 40 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. AMD has paired 2,048 MB GDDR5 memory with the FirePro M5100, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 725 MHz, which can be boosted up to 775 MHz, memory is running at 1125 MHz (4.5 Gbps effective). Being a mxm module card, its power draw is not exactly known. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device.
