Ocypus at Computex 2024: Air and Liquid CPU Coolers, Cases

Ocypus is a new PC casing and cooling brand we've met at Computex 2024. The brand has a formidable lineup of contemporary gaming PC cases, fans, and CPU coolers (both air and liquid). The Iota L36 line of AIO liquid CPU coolers come with high static pressure FDB fans, and a glossy rounded-square pump-block with a segmented display that puts out coolant temperature as measured in the pump (rather than pulled from ACPI over USB/software). The cooler comes in white and black trims, and there's just one radiator size on display—360 mm x 120 mm. The Delta L36 is a "lite" variant of the Iota L36, with a silicon RGB LED diffuser crowning the pump-block instead of the temperature display. Both coolers support the upcoming LGA1851, LGA1700, AM5, and AM4 sockets.

The CPU air cooler lineup is topped by the Iota A62, a large dual fin-stack cooler, which comes in silver and black color variants. It uses a pair of 120 mm FDB fans in push-pull configuration, with the second fan located between the two fin-stacks. The top-plates of the fin stacks have perforations, and the LED segment display peeks out from these in what is a neatly executed design. The Delta A62 is identical to this, but without the display. What's interesting is that the Iota A62 lacks fan illumination, but the Delta A62 has plenty of it.

It also comes in an i240 240 mm radiator version with support for AMD and Intel platforms.

TRYX CPU Coolers: Panorama SE is a Standout in AIO CLC Design, with a Curved Display

One of the standout products at Computex this year is the TRYX Panorama SE, an AIO liquid CPU cooler with an innovative 6.5-inch AMOLED curved display on the pump-block that wraps around the front- and side, with an eye-pleasing 1080p resolution. You're supposed to orient it in such a way that its side faces the front of your case, and hope that this portion of the display isn't obstructed by tall memory modules. Perhaps the latest crop of motherboards with DDR5 CAMM2 slots has the answer to this problem.

The curved display and its panoramic edge lets you create anamorphic illusion effects such as the ones you see in buildings with large curved displays. The cooler uses an HDMI connection to your graphics card, and can be made to display just about anything. The Panorama SE comes in 360 mm and 240 mm radiator sizes, and in white- and black trims. The display is embedded in its own L-shaped breakout module that floats over the pump-block. The actual pump-block is somewhat cylindrical, a small 60 mm fan ventilates the pump motor and the heat dissipation chamber.

Xilence Brings Clear Acrylic RGB Fans and Pillarless Cases to Computex 2024

Partly like it's 2012 with clear acrylic RGB LED fans from Xilence. The new Xilence Gaming series 120 mm ARGB fans shed the trend of using frosted plastic to diffuse LED lighting, in favor of clear acrylic for both the impeller and the bore of the fan frame. The LEDs are studded along the bore, and not the impeller hub. You get modern FDB bearings, 4-pin PWM for the main function, and 3-pin ARGB for the lighting. The company also showed us their cable-free daisy-chaining fan series meant for radiator. A single cable powers one of the fans, and daisy-chaining contacts power the others in the series.

Next up, is the Xilence LiQuRizer, a line of all-in-one liquid CPU coolers, which feature a round (typical Asetek) pump-block, with an infinite reflection ornament on top, which shows off the Xilence logo. Wooting 80HE Keyboard Pictured at Computex 2024

Wooting are the pioneers of of analog keyboards—keyboards where a keystroke isn't a 0 or 1; but rather quantifiable based on the key travel. The keyboard can measure the travel of a key in increments of 0.1 mm. Besides the numerous applications of such a technology in gaming and creative work, the keyboard also allows you to configure the exact actuation point of each key—something a regular "digital" mechanical keyboard can't. The new Wooting 80HE is an 80% version of the original Wooting One, and has all the keys you'd expect in a TKL (tenkeyless) layout. Every key is individually RGB illuminated. The keyboard's electronics support 8000 Hz USB polling rate, for a 0.125 ms response time. The Wooting booth had an instrument set up, which could let you see the actual analog motion of the keystroke.

OWC Brings Slick and Powerful Creator Storage to Computex 2024

OWC brought a host of creator storage solutions to Computex 2024. The company's claim to fame over the past decades has been that their gear is compatible with Macs and iOS devices, although, the current generation is pretty standardized for Macs and Windows PCs. We begin our tour with docking stations—the stuff OWC is good at. The OWC Thunderbolt Go Dock supports the new Thunderbolt Share standard announced by Intel barely a month ago. It plugs into two PCs (or Macs) that support Thunderbolt Share, and enables a fast 40 Gbps network connection between the two, letting you quickly move files and other resources. The dock also allows you to share its various ports, I/O, and card readers among the two connected machines. These connections include two downstream Thunderbolt 40 Gbps, an HDMI display output, a gigabit Ethernet, two 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 type-A, a 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 type-C, a USB 2.0, HD audio with 4-pole headset jack, and an SD card reader. Ajazz at Computex 2024: Keyboards with Large Touchscreens, OLED Control Decks, Magnesium Alloy Mouse

Ajazz had a brisk show in its Computex 2024 booth, with the main attractions being keyboards with large touchscreens. The first one is a low-profile mechanical keyboard with a 5-inch (well, 4.9-inch) true-color capacitive touchscreen. The keyboard has physical dimensions comparable to the 85% format, but has a 75% layout, with that touchscreen located where you'd expect the Numpad to be. But that's not the strangest contraption, it's actually the Smart Screen Mechanical keyboard. This is also a 75% keyboard, but with a 10.1-inch rectangular screen with a crazy aspect ratio. You plug the keyboard to your PC, and this display as an HDMI device, and basically give yourself a second screen that prove useful for mapping macros in games, or even during creative work. It's just that the keyboard looks like a computer from the 1980s.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect about these keyboards with touchscreens, is that they're not all that expensive. The keyboard with the 10.1-inch screen, for example, is priced under $50. It's quite possible to pull off these prices if you're digging into the spare parts bins of smartphones. Don't need the big touchscreens? Ajazz has one with a tiny LED segment display.
