Kioxia to Showcase New Consumer SSDs Delivering PCIe 4.0 Performance at COMPUTEX

Kioxia Corporation, a world leader in memory solutions, today announced new consumer SSDs scheduled to be released in the third quarter of 2023. The EXCERIA PLUS G3 Series will leverage PCIe 4.0 technology and offer up to 2 terabytes (TB) of capacity. The new series is well-suited to mainstream users of high performance gaming PCs, desktops and notebooks, bringing the speed and affordability that they require. The EXCERIA PLUS G3 Series, which is a product under development, will be on reference exhibit at COMPUTEX TAIPEI from May 30 to June 2 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.

Featuring Kioxia's BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory TLC (Triple-Level-Cell), the EXCERIA PLUS G3 Series utilizes an M.2 2280 type single-sided form factor suitable for both desktops and mobile systems. The new drives will also support Kioxia's SSD Utility Management Software, which assists users with SSD monitoring and maintenance.

KIOXIA Debuts High Capacity 512GB microSD Cards for Continuous 4K Video Recording

KIOXIA America, Inc. today announced the addition of a high-capacity 512 gigabyte (GB) product to its lineup of EXCERIA HIGH ENDURANCE microSD memory cards. The new 512 GB product delivers sufficient performance and endurance in continuous high-resolution 4K video recordings of dashboard and surveillance cameras.

As the evolution of dashboard cameras continues, with new features such as high-resolution recordings, multiple cameras and parking surveillance being added, the amount of recorded data is steadily increasing. The new KIOXIA 512 GB EXCERIA HIGH ENDURANCE microSDXC UHS-I memory card is designed for the extended recording time required by dashboard cameras, and is capable of up to 17,000 hours of cumulative use and up to 10 hours and 29 minutes of continuous 4K video (3840x2160 pixels, 100 megabits per second) recording. With a read speed of up to 100 megabytes per second (MB/s) and write speed of up to 85 MB/s, the new 512 GB card supports the UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) and Video Speed Class 30 (V30) specifications, making it suitable for 4K video recording.

KIOXIA Unveils the EXCERIA PLUS Portable SSD Series

KIOXIA, a worldwide leader in memory solutions, today announced the launch of the EXCERIA PLUS Portable SSD Series, scheduled to be released in November. The portable SSD series fits up to 2 TB of data in a new compact palm-size and rounded design. Compatible out-of-the-box with multiple host devices including PCs, smartphones, tablets and game consoles, making these portable SSDs suitable for on-the-go users and content creators seeking high-speed transfer of large data files.

The EXCERIA PLUS Portable SSD Series utilizes KIOXIA's BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory and offers a line-up of capacities in 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB. With a maximum sequential read speed of 1,050 MB/s, the new series features a USB Type-C connector with a USB 3.2 Gen2 interface enabling fast transferring of 4K videos and high-resolution photos. Each EXCERIA PLUS Portable SSD also includes cables of both Type-C to A and Type-C to C to ensure the drive works on both current and legacy systems.

Toshiba Introduces Three New Video Speed Class 30 (V30) EXCERIA microSDXC Cards

Toshiba Memory Europe GmbH has announced three new additions to the EXCERIA family of microSDXC cards, named M303. With capacities of up to 256GB, maximum read/write speeds of 98MB/s and 65MB/s respectively, as well as a new Video Speed Class 30 (V30), the M303 allows users to record and store 4K Ultra HD content.

The M303's speed rating supports 4K Ultra HD video recording; a prerequisite for the latest action cameras, video recorders and drones. Smartphones compatible with microSDXC specification will benefit from the M303's ability to write high-resolution videos and images at high speed. Rated with Video Speed Class 30 (V30), the M303 provides a minimum data transfer rate of 30 MB/s with a recommended UHS device under the conditions regulated by SD association.
