"Senua's Saga: Hellblade II" Launches May 21, Digital-Only Release

Hello, Dom here, Studio Head at Ninja Theory. As I write this, we are now in the final few months of development on Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, preparing for our launch Day One on Xbox Game Pass and across Xbox Series X|S, Windows and Steam on May 21. It was a pleasure to give you all a deeper insight into Senua's next journey, our studio and our talented team in Developer Direct.

Since the release of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Ninja Theory has transitioned from being an independent team to one that sits within Xbox Game Studios. Although this has seen change for Ninja Theory, particularly in terms of the support now available to us for striving towards our ambitions, what has not changed is our passion and commitment to our studio mission - to craft life-changing art with game changing tech.

Version 18.7.1 drivers come with optimization for "Earthfall," with up to 28 percent more performance measured on Radeon RX Vega 56 and up to 28 percent more performance to be had on the RX 580 8 GB, at 1440; and up to 27 percent higher performance measured at 1080p, on the RX 560 4 GB.

The drivers also address a number of bugs, including random crash noticed in "Fortnite Season 5," when rendering throwing stars. Flickering noticed on "Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice" has been fixed. The drivers also fix a bug of not all compatible display modes appearing in Windows; slower than expected performance in Corel Draw, and black screen noticed during boot on displays connected via DisplayPort. And the Big Winners at BAFTA Are...

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and What Remains of Edith Finch". Those are the two big takers in the ceremony that took place last night, with Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice coming on top in five of its nominated nine categories: Best British Game, Artistic Achievement, Best Performer (Melina Juergens really was fantastic), Audio Achievement, and the new Game Beyond Entertainment category, which recognizes titles that "deliver a transformational experience beyond pure entertainment." I have to say I agree on all counts; the game is much more than just that, and is a perfect example of game systems, technical and writing competence bridging the gap between 3D entertainment and a deep look at human nature. And that ending... My god, what a beautiful, thematically-perfect ending.
