Noctua Announces $150 Flagship NH-D15 G2 CPU Coolers and NF-A14x25r G2 140mm Fans

Noctua today released its long-awaited NH-D15 G2 next-gen flagship model CPU cooler and NF-A14x25r G2 round-frame 140 mm fans. Continuing the legacy of the iconic NH-D15 and its NF-A15 fans, the new G2 products come packed with Noctua's latest technologies and have been carefully refined in all respects to provide even better quiet cooling performance than their award-winning predecessors.

"Our G2 products have been years in the making, and it feels amazing to finally be able to offer the first of them to our customers", says Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO). "We faced various challenges in both design and manufacturing, but we've cut no corners and gone the extra mile to make sure that the G2's will be worthy successors to some of our most iconic models. When you have them in your hands, I'm confident that you'll be able to sense some of the dedication and perseverance that went into creating these fans and coolers."

Noctua Announces CPU Coolers for AMD's New Threadripper and EPYC processors

Noctua today announced its new NH-U14S TR5-SP6 and NH-D9 TR5-SP6 4U CPU coolers for AMD's TR5 (sTR5/sTRX5/sWRX9) and SP6 sockets for the just-released 7000 series Threadripper HEDT (High-End Desktop) and Threadripper PRO workstation processors as well as 8004 series EPYC server CPUs. While the 14 cm NH-U14S TR5-SP6 provides maximum cooling performance at minimum noise levels, the 9 cm NH-D9 TR5-SP6 4U combines excellent efficiency with a compact size for full 4U compatibility. In addition to the two cooler models, Noctua also introduced the new NM-TR5-SP6 mounting kit that allows upgrading existing TR4-SP3, DX-4677, DX-4189 and DX-3647 line coolers to support the new TR5/SP6 sockets of TRX50 and WRX90 motherboards.

"The amount of computing performance that AMD's new TRX50 and WRX90 platforms with their Zen 4 based Threadripper and Threadripper Pro processors provide is downright stunning", says Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO). "At heatloads of 350 W and more, you'll certainly want a premium grade cooling solution to go with them though. This is where our new TR5-SP6 models step in!"

Noctua Cools Down 700 W 56-core Intel Xeon W9-3495X on Air

Noctua has showcased its NH-U14S DX-4677 air cooler in action, cooling down Intel's 56-core Xeon W9-3495X at full load and drawing 700 W of power. While all-in-one (AiO) liquid coolers are popular these days, Noctua aim to show that air coolers are more than capable on handling even the most high-end CPUs, even at continuous load and without throttling.

While the video does not show the full details of the CPU settings, it is still an impressive feat, especially considering the high power draw, which suggest that the CPU was pushed way beyond its default settings for demonstration. The setup includes the aforementioned Intel's 56-core Xeon W9-3495X CPU, running on ASUS Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE motherboard with SK Hynix DDR5 EC8 RDIMM, and powered by Seasonic's PX-1600 PSU.

Noctua Presents New Chromax Line Fan and Heatsink Accessories

Noctua today presented new fan and heatsink accessories as part of its chromax line that allows colour-configuring Noctua products in order to coordinate them with individual build colour schemes. Complementing the existing NA-SAVP1 anti-vibration pads in black, blue, green, red, white and yellow, the new NA-SAVP1 chromax.grey anti-vibration pads are a perfect fit for the light and dark grey colour scheme of Noctua's 140 and 120mm redux line fans. The new NA-HC5 chromax.black.swap, NA-HC6 chromax.black and NA-HC6 chromax.white are add-on heatsink covers for the popular NH-U14S, NH-U14S TR4-SP3 and NH-U14S DX-3647 CPU coolers.

"We've seen an overwhelming customer response to our chromax line that allows users to customise the visual design of their heatsinks and fans in order to create unique, individual builds that impress with subtle, classy colour accents rather than overblown lighting effects," says Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO). "With the new pads and heatsink covers, we're expanding our offer, giving customers even more possibilities for colour-coordinating their fans and enabling NH-U14S users to customise their coolers."

Noctua Showcases Next Generation of D-type Coolers, Chromax Coolers and More at Computex 2019

During our visit with Noctua, we spotted what every air cooling enthusiast has been hoping for, a brand new top of the line D-type cooler. Noctua's next generation model is of course based on the award-winning NH-D15 and NH-D15S and comes packing 7 heat pipes alongside a 10% increase in surface area for improved performance. It also takes design cues from the NH-D15S by using an asymmetrical design for improved PCIe clearance while also retaining the same fin cutouts for improved RAM clearance of 65 mm.

The company plans to release two versions, one with a single fan and of course a dual fan thus offering both a high compatibility and a maximum performance model. The bundled fan will be Noctua's proven NF-A15 PWM model which when paired with the new redesign results in a cooler capable of dissipating over 400-watts on the TR4 socket. Speaking of sockets, it will support all current offerings including AMD, LGA20xx, LGA115x with a separate model for socket TR4. It has a current ETA of Q1 2020 and will come bundled with Noctua's NT-H2 thermal compound.

Noctua Presents CPU Coolers for AMD's Threadripper (X399) and EPYC Platforms

Noctua today presented three high-end heatsinks for the TR4 and SP3 sockets of AMD's latest Ryzen Threadripper (X399) and Epyc platforms. The new TR4-SP3 versions of the award-winning NH-U14S, NH-U12S and NH-U9 coolers are tailored custom models that feature a larger contact surface as well as a SecuFirm2 mounting system for TR4/SP3. Supplied with Noctua's renowned NF-A15, NF-F12 and NF-A9 premium fans, the new coolers combine outstanding cooling performance with exceptional quietness of operation.

"A high-end platform usually calls for high-end cooling solutions and that's precisely the case with AMD's new Epyc and upcoming Ryzen Threadripper ecosystems", explains Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO). "We have therefore customized our award-winning NH-U14S, NH-U12S and NH-U9 coolers so that users can enjoy the performance and quietness of these proven premium heatsinks on the new AMD platforms."
