While Intel is busy with its new Core Ultra 200S series of "Arrow Lake-S" processors for desktops, the start of 2025 is brining some interesting news for the last-generation Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU. The "Raptor Lake" CPU, without a working iGPU has officially broken overclocking world record and reached further into the 10 GHz dream. Achieved by an overclocker named "Wytiwx", the new world record is now sitting in at 9121.61 MHz, beating the previous 9117.75 MHz record held by "Elmor" by 3.8 MHz. This officially breaks Elmor's rule which started in 2022 and currently holds second, third, fourth, and fifth place in the leaderboard. We are curious if the new overclocker will maintain his lead, or if someone new will try to come out on top. Interestingly, for the new world record, Wytiwx used ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX motherboard with CPU cooled by LN2. The run was validated on Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, which is an interesting choice for overclockers as previous records have also been set using Windows 7.

It's been public knowledge for a while now that Lenovo is planning an imminent successor to its Legion Go handheld that has proven rather popular among handheld gamers. Previous leaks and rumors indicated that the Legion Go S 8ARP1, as it will apparently be named, will be a more affordable version of the current Legion Go. Now, thanks to Roland Quandt, Windows Central, and WinFuture, more details about the upcoming Legion Go S have leaked, including images of the device, supposed specifications, and a potential price.

According to the leaks, the new affordable handheld gaming PC will feature some substantial hardware changes, including a slightly smaller eight-inch display, this time with a much lower 1920 × 1200p resolution and a slightly lower 120 Hz refresh rate. Gone, too, are the Nintendo Switch-style detachable controllers, with the Legion Go S instead featuring a white unibody design. What's more interesting than the leaked images of the Legion Go S or the hardware changes—detachable controllers or not, the Legion Go is still intended to be used as a handheld—is the new AMD APU that will seemingly power the Go S. The as-yet unannounced AMD Ryzen Z2G looks like it will be an odd core configuration featuring an AMD Radeon 680M iGPU and Zen 3+ cores. Ultimately, the APU seems like it will put the Legion Go S somewhere between the current-generation Legion Go and devices featuring the AMD Ryzen Z1 (non-extreme), which is a good place to be if Lenovo hopes to compete with the likes of the Steam Deck OLED, which will seemingly cost around the same as the Legion Go S, depending on which region you are in.

Late last week ASUS posted a cryptic announcement, as well as giveaway product questions, on its Twitter page about an upcoming product launch event (scheduled for today - May 10). Hopeful commenters were guessing that a TUF-edition RTX 4070 was incoming, or that a very premature (and potentially surprising) RTX 4060 Ti reveal was due. ASUS has in fact shown off a few new GeForce RTX 4090 custom designs, including a pair of "OG" TUF offerings: "TUF Gaming graphics cards have always been known for their rugged styling, rock solid stability, and excellent gaming performance. The two TUF OG cards look identical from the outside, but the OC edition adds some customized clock speed tunings: 2595 MHz (OC mode) / 2565 MHz (Default mode). The brand new OG models are slightly smaller than their older TUF siblings - 325.9 x 140.2 x 62.8 mm compared to 348.2 x 150 x 72.6 mm (respectively). ASUS thinks that this shrinkage in overall card dimensions will accommodate customers with tighter PC enclosure conditions: "What makes the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 OG truly stand out is its size.
