Ahead of its June 23 release, the minimum- and recommended-system requirements of Rocksteady's next installment to the super-hit Batman: Arkham franchise, Arkham Knight, was disclosed by NVIDIA. The PC version appears to have some clear visual benefits over the console variants of this game, given its steep storage requirements. Given that it will get an NVIDIA GameWorks varnish, PC gamers can expect eye-candy that won't make it to the console versions, including support for high-resolution display standards, such as 4K Ultra HD.Without further ado, the system requirements lists.

Without making too much noise, PowerColor introduced a pair of new cost-effective ATI Radeon HD 5800 series graphics cards, the PowerColor HD 5830 V2 (AX5830 1GBD5-DHV2), and PowerColor HD 5850 (AX5850 1GBD5- DH). The two are based on a new common PCB design that's shorter (10.4"), and uses a cost-effective component layout. The cooler also keeps up, it is more compact, and has a simpler heat pipe-based design. Both cards stick to the AMD reference clock speeds: 725/1000 MHz (core/memory) for the HD 5850, and 800/1000 MHz (core/memory) for the HD 5830. As far as connectivity goes, the HD 5830 V2 lacks one DVI. While PowerColor did not give out pricing details of these two cards, one can expect these to be priced on the lower side, with much more flexibility for the company to lower the prices further down in the future.

TechPowerUp announced version 0.4.4 of GPU-Z, the popular graphics sub-system information, diagnostics, and monitoring utility. The standalone app provides all the information you need about the installed graphics cards, and real-time monitoring of their clock-speeds, fan-speeds, voltages, temperatures, and even video memory, and GPU usage (on supported models). A little earlier this month, NVIDIA tweeted that it would formally unveil the GeForce GTX 400 series graphics cards, NVIDIA's DirectX 11 generation GPUs, at the PAX East gaming event in Boston (MA), United States, on the 26th of March. That's a little under a month's time from now. In its run up, sources that have access to samples of the graphics cards seem to be drawing their "performance expectations" among other details tricking in.

Both the GeForce GTX 480 and GTX 470 graphics cards are based on NVIDIA's GF100 silicon, which physically packs 512 CUDA cores, 16 geometry units, 64 TMUs, 48 ROPs, and a 384-bit GDDR5 memory interface. While the GTX 480 is a full-featured part, the GTX 470 is slightly watered-down, with probably 448 or 480 CUDA cores enabled, and a slightly narrower memory interface, probably 320-bit GDDR5. Sources tell DonanimHaber that the GeForce GTX 470 performs somewhere between the ATI Radeon HD 5850 and Radeon HD 5870. This part is said to have a power draw of 300W. The GeForce GTX 480, on the other hand, is expected to perform on-par with the GeForce GTX 295 - at least in existing (present-generation) applications. A recent listing by an online store for a pre-order, put the GTX 480 at US $699.

Sapphire is making an addition to its Toxic series graphics card that feature non-reference design with out of the box higher clock speeds, based on the ATI Radeon HD 5850 GPU. The Toxic HD 5850. It features what appears to be a non-reference blue PCB by Sapphire, a non-reference cooler with a dash of racy blue graphics, and higher clock speeds. Its GPU is clocked at 765 MHz and memory at 1125 MHz (4500 MHz effective), against reference clock speeds of 725 MHz and 1000 (4000 eff.) MHz, respectively. The Radeon HD 5850 GPU is DirectX 11 compliant, has 1440 stream processors, and a 256-bit GDDR5 memory interface. There's 1 GB of memory on board. It is expected to be released on or before 15th Feb. Online store Overclockers UK has listed this card before its announcement at £269.99 including applicable tax, though we expect the price to come down after release.

ASUS is readying a new factory-overclocked, custom-design graphics card based on the ATI Radeon HD 5870 GPU, likely named the EAH5870-TOP. The company is also readying the Radeon HD 5850 based EAH5850 DirectCu. While the EAH5870-TOP is expected to have high out of the box clock speeds, a higher performance sporty-looking cooler, the EAH5850 DirectCu relies on a more function-centric cooler design that boasts of being 35% quieter and 20% cooler [than reference AMD cooler]. Further details, such as clock speeds are not known, but it is expected that ASUS will release these during CeBIT 2010, later this quarter.

Club 3D unveiled a 'custom-designed' graphics card based on the ATI Radeon HD 5850 GPU, being sold as the Overclocked Edition. The design of this accelerator resembles that of PowerColor's PCS+ series HD 5800 series accelerators, pointing back at its source. The card features a custom PCB and cooling solution which makes some smart cost-cutting in return for out of the box higher clock speeds. The GPU and memory are clocked at 760 MHz and 1050 MHz (4200 MHz effective), respectively, against reference speeds of 725/1000 MHz.

The cooling system involves a large heatsink with aluminum fins, to which heat is conveyed by four heat pipes. A centrally-located fan blows air on to it. The Radeon HD 5850 GPU is DirectX 11 compliant, features 1440 stream processors, and connects to 1 GB of memory on this card, across a 256-bit GDDR5 memory interface. The display connectivity, we presume, resembles that of the reference design, with two DVI-D, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort connectors. Club 3D is yet to announce its price.

Having reclaimed the positions of having the fastest graphics cards and the most powerful GPU with the DirectX 11 compliant Radeon HD 5000 series, AMD is looking to make DirectX 11 accessible to all market segments. Later this month, AMD is expected to announce its lower-mainstream Radeon HD 5600 products, but with it, also an addition to the Radeon HD 5800 series: the Radeon HD 5830. This product is expected to fill the gap between Radeon HD 5770 and Radeon HD 5850.

The Radeon HD 5770 is priced in the sub-$200 range, while the HD 5850 at around $300. This gap is currently held by the previous-generation Radeon HD 4890, which faces competition from some NVIDIA GeForce GTX 200 series products. It is expected that the Radeon HD 5830 will be about as powerful as a Radeon HD 4890 in current applications, while being priced slightly lower, and a little more competitive owing to its feature set and future-proofing. The new product could be announced on the 25th Jan. No additional details or specifications are known at this point.

MSI is ready with two new custom-design graphics cards based on the ATI Radeon HD 5800 graphics processors: the R5870 Lightning and R5850 Cyclone. The R5870 Lightning, as expected features a Twin-Frozr II dual-fan VGA cooler designed by MSI on a custom-designed PCB which makes some high-grade components, specifically in the card's VRM area (12-phase PWM, dual 8-pin PCI-E power input), to make it fare better at overclocking. Other notable features include v-check points and 1 GB of GDDR5 memory across the GPU's 256-bit wide memory interface. Connectivity cluster resembles that of the AMD reference design, retaining Eyefinity technology support. The R5850 Cyclone, on the other hand, uses the familiar Cyclone GPU cooler MSI used in the past on some Radeon HD 4800 series graphics cards. MSI designed its own PCB here too, but with a few smart cost-cuttings, although the quality of the components used isn't affected. The two will be out in this quarter.

PCS+ HD5870 and PCS+ HD5850 clock at 875MHz / 760MHz core speed respectively, while memory clock at 1225MHz / 1050MHz respectively. The factory overclocked ability ensures gaming efficacy can effortlessly go beyond the standard version, and provides the out of box gaming performance gamers have never felt before.

AMD's Catalyst PC Vendor ID List has been updated to reflect their latest product updates, which surprisingly includes "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800" models.The models listed are "Broadway XT", "Broadway Pro/LT". While it is certain that Broadway XT will become the Mobility Radeon HD 5870, sources differ whether Broadway Pro/LT will be two distinct products initially: Mobility Radeon HD 5850 and Mobility Radeon HD 5830 or if there will be only a Mobility Radeon HD 5850 product first.

In addition to these confirmed models there are rumors about that describe "Madison" (Mobility HD 5700) and "Park" (Mobility HD 5400). This would give AMD a full mobile DirectX 11 low-power GPU lineup to compete in the mobile market.

Closely following up the launch of its SpitFire VGA Cooler, air-cooling specialist Thermalright introduced the VRM-R4 and VRM-R3 graphics card VRM heatsinks designed for AMD Radeon HD 5800 series graphics cards. In many ways, these two heatsinks resemble the VRM-R1 and VRM-R2, which the company introduced back in July, for the Radeon HD 4800 series accelerators.

The new VRM-R3 and VRM-R4 measure 122 x 85 x 99 mm and 133 x 53 x 127 mm (LxWxH), respectively, and consist of baseplates that double up as small heatsinks, from which, two 6 mm heatpipes convey heat to an aluminum fin array big enough to mount 80 mm fans. For the VRM-R3, this fin array propagates perpendicular to the plane of the motherboard, while for the VRM-R4, is goes along the plane. Like their predecessors, the two should be compatible with popular Thermalright GPU coolers such as HR-03 Rev.A, HR-03 GT, HR-03 GT V2, T-Rad2, and T-Rad2 GTX. Pricing isn't known as yet.

Close to two weeks after launching the industry's fastest graphics card with the Radeon HD 5970 2 GB, it looks like AMD will back the release with another high-end graphics card in Q1 2010, ideally to stack up a lineup against NVIDIA's performance DirectX 11 offerings that are slated for around the same time. The new release comes in the form of Radeon HD 5950, aimed to occupy the gap between the Radeon HD 5870 and Radeon HD 5970.

The Radeon HD 5950 will retain the design methodology of the HD 5970. It will use two AMD Cypress GPUs with the same configuration Radeon HD 5850 uses. It has 1440 stream processors enabled per GPU, 72 TMUs and 32 ROPs enabled, and 256-bit wide GDDR5 memory interfaces per GPU probably to hold 2 GB of total memory. Just as the dual-GPU HD 5970 uses lower clock speeds compared to the single-GPU HD 5870 that uses the same GPU, HD 5950 keeps up with the trend. It is expected to have its core clocked between 650~675 MHz, and memory at 900~1000 MHz (3.60 GHz to 4.00 GHz effective).

A Chinese tech community MyMyPC.com member pictured, and tested a Radeon HD 5750 graphics accelerator, which is intended to be AMD's flagship product in the sub $150 market segment. Unlike the Radeon HD 5770, which is pictured with a different cooler that resembles that of the Radeon HD 4770 (AMD reference), and Radeon HD 3870, this card makes do with a GPU cooler essentially similar to that of the more common Radeon HD 4770 cooler design, except for a few changes with the fan and the cooler shroud. Under the black, egg-shaped shroud is a heatsink with radially-projecting fins, in which is nested a red 80 mm fan. Everything else on the card, relies on its air-flow.
