A Closer Look - Outside
The Aero-1000 is quite the clean case with its straight edges and rounded corners. Its tall top cover and large front air vent also hint at some serious radiator compatibility.
Aerocool designed the front so that the top and bottom edge extrude slightly. Thanks to the metal top cover, the case makes a really good impression in terms of build quality. Turning the unit around, the rear looks quite traditional, with the PSU bay in the bottom of the chassis.
Aerocool placed a compact window on the main side panel, which is otherwise completely solid and flat. Turning the Aero-1000 around, the other panel is completely solid.
About 60% of the front consists of a large air vent. You may remove the metal-mesh part to reveal a removable dust filter. Upon taking it out, you will find two pre-installed 120 mm fans that are set to pull air into the chassis.
There are two 5.25" drive bays with easily removable covers thanks to a large silver latch in the top. While this is great, they do feel a bit cheap, which is not uncommon to silver plastic elements, though it is nice to see that you are easily able to take the covers out at any time.
The bottom of the rear forms the PSU bay with two sets of mounting screws, which means you can pick the orientation of the power supply. Above that are the seven expansion-slot covers that are protected by individual covers held in place by thumbscrews. Above that is another 120 mm fan set to push air out the back of the case.
Last but not least is the dust filter on the bottom, easily removable as you may simply pull it out through the back for cleaning purposes.
