Packaging and Accessories

Remember that the Ajazz AC064 is primarily sold as a DIY keyboard kit, and the packaging mentions as much since the assembled keyboard SKU seems to be an Epomaker exclusive for now. Packaging is heavy duty as well, a big step up from the previous two Ajazz keyboards we saw before with thick cardboard used for a two-piece packaging that has a separate lid that lifts up from the box. On the front is simply the product name in the top-left corner, with text in Mandarin translating roughly to "lighthearted" in the middle, alongside a note confirming the kit is indeed easy to assemble. On the back, Ajazz branding has been put next to technical specifications and contact information. There are two seals on either end, and we also see that this project is a collaboration between Ajazz and Nacodex, another boutique keyboard manufacturer. Open the box and you are greeted to foam on the underside of the lid, as well as a wax paper lining above the keyboard with a render of the keyboard layout itself.

The AC064 kit ships in a couple of different colors depending on where you see it, with gray appearing to be the most common option. The blue used in this kit is on the rarer side of things, making it one of the reasons to consider the assembled unit itself. It ships inside a thick foam block that adds protection to the keyboard on the sides, and removing it reveals exactly how chunky and heavy it is. The accessories are found in the bottom layer, with more cutouts to make for a fairly clean unboxing experience.

There is a user manual in both English and Mandarin, and it opens up as a pamphlet that goes over the basic setup and customization options. In the absence of any software customization, you are left to rely on what Ajazz has physically done here. A cardboard box holds the other accessories, including the expected tiny USB dongle for 2.4 GHz connectivity, sleeved USB Type-A to Type-C cable, and really nice metal wire keycap puller and switch remover combination tool. The latter is one of the better implementations too, making it easy to remove multiple keycaps in a row.
