Packaging
Unlike the Eisbaer products, the Core Ocean series features much more subdued packaging. While lots of colors can be eye-catching, I commend Alphacool for the frugality of their choice. When you are looking to provide a stellar price to performance product, splurging on packaging seems a waste. You won't find any fancy images or full-color graphics to look at here. Instead, you get a brown box with the product name, a quick list of features, and fan and pump dimensions on the front. Turning to the left, there is a partial look at the radiator dimensions, which continue onto the back.
On the right side, you will find the product code along with some general contact information for Alphacool. Meanwhile, the top and bottom are just as spartan as the rest of the packaging's design. It may not be pretty, but it doesn't need to be.
Contents
Inside the box, you will find a cardboard tray which keeps the cooler and miscellaneous parts secure. As added protection, a sheet of foam is placed on top, and while it may not offer much, its still nice to see, considering so many brands are opting to cut corners here.
Intel and AMD socket support is robust enough that anyone on a typical mainstream system should be just fine. While I find the dropping of certain sockets odd, it isn't necessarily an issue as most of those missing, like LGA1366 and AM3, are quite old.
