Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora 360 HPE AIO Cooler Review

Packaging

Alphacool uses a black box motif that features the Eisbaer Aurora's pump front and center. While the all-black packaging sticks with the company's image, it makes for a muddier look to the image meant to show off the pump's ARGB lighting. That said, a nice aspect of the packaging is Alphacool listing the supported CPU sockets right on the front, which is a great way to showcase compatibility without users needing to do box-flipping gymnastics. Moving on, the left side is a black panel with the Alphacool website in white, but little else to see. Meanwhile, much like the front, the back makes note of the supported CPU sockets and shows off an ARGB fan, which is not what is included in the box. That said, this is a review sample, and the packaging will likely change to reflect that when it reaches retail.

Next up is another black side panel that is the same as the previous one, so there is nothing of interest here. The ends of the box also have little information with only the Alphacool logo proudly displayed. With all the blank space on the box, it would be nice to see the specifications included, but as there's nothing listed here, what you are getting is a bit less obvious. Thankfully, with the power of e-commerce, most people looking at the Eisbaer Aurora 360 HPE will see the specifications listed on the website they are purchasing it from, so I won't knock Alphacool too hard for the omission.

Contents

The interior packaging is par the course for what can be expected for all-in-one liquid coolers. A cardboard tray keeps the cooler, mounting hardware, and fans safely contained. I will always prefer foam, but the cardboard tray did the job just fine, and the product arrived safe and sound.

The cooler supports all current and most past mainstream sockets, including Intel's LGA115x, LGA1200, and LGA1700. Alphacool supports just about everything imaginable on the AMD side, at least in regards to modern sockets, including AM4, TR4, sTRX4, SP3, and sWRX, making this an interesting option if you're still rocking AMD's HEDT platform. Also note that the company has a beefed-up replacement backplate that will eventually be included. However, it is not included just yet. But worry not as you can get one with proof of purchase directly no matter the location or shop.
