Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
Released: 2019 — API: DirectX 11 — Engine: Unreal Engine 4
Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order is the first modern single-player campaign adventure from the franchise in decades. It's closely set in the timeline of "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith," which sees Palpatine execute order 66 calling for the extermination of the Jedi Order. You play as a Jedi Padawan (apprentice) who's hiding from the Empire in plain sight when a turn of events causes you to use the Force, setting off an epic adventure.
EA placed the Star Wars game franchise in the hands of Respawn Entertainment, which used the ubiquitous Unreal Engine 4. The game uses the older DirectX 11 API and appears to have been designed with consoles in mind. Still, there's plenty of eye-candy from vast open environments, and firefights.
