Assembly
Installing the board is done by traditional means: place it on the included spacers and secure it with the supplied screws. As you can see, there is enough space for large CPU coolers and long graphics cards - even without removing a hard drive cage.
anidées includes metal hard drive trays unlike the plastic ones found in many other cases these days. These can be used for both 2.5 or 3.5 inch drives and require the use of screws. 3.5 inch units rest on rubber rings, while 2.5 inch ones do not have such an anti-vibration measures.
Once placed on the trays, simply slide the drive into the bay of your choice until the metal trays snap into place. Once inserted these hold extremely well - something that cannot be said about many plastic variants.
Installing an optical drive is quite easy as well. Simply remove the cover of your choice, slide the drive into place and secure it with big, black thumb screws. The greater size of these makes it much easier to apply them to the drives - a nice little touch from anidées.
Installing the PSU is done without the use of any screws if you decide that the Velcro strip is sufficient for your needs. I also used the supplied screws in the review.
Once everything is installed, the anidées AI6 makes a very clean impression, as all the cables are hidden nicely behind the mainboard tray.
Finished Looks
Replacing the side panels and turning the unit on, I was impressed by the low noise level coming from the two fans, even though these were running at full speed. anidées has done an excellent job in choosing fans with such low operating noise.
Thanks to the door, you can hide your optical drives, fan controllers or card readers nicely. This also gives you the option to use that beige or silver drive that has been lying around, instead of going out and buying a new, black one. White LEDs in the top of the chassis are a nice touch and welcome change from the blue, red or green versions so many other chases employ.
Taking a quick look at the rear, all areas of importance are easily accessible and unobstructed. Both fans within the anidées AI6 do not have LEDs, which should make the case a great fit for those not wanting Little Vegas under their tables all the time.
