Assembly

Installing a motherboard within the DF-500 is pretty straightforward, with plenty of space above and to the right of the board.

Adding an SSD may be done by simply screwing it down to the insides of the case or using one of two metal trays. Once the SSD is installed to a tray, you may put the tray back into its place and secure it with a thumb screw.

Installing a traditional 3.5" drive doesn't require any tools. Simply snap the unit into place and push the filled tray back into place underneath the shroud.

Installing a PSU is done by using screws to hold it in place. The DF-500 has plenty of space, so you may use a longer units if need be.

With everything installed, the DF-500 actually looks quite clean inside. You are able to bunch up and hide all the cables from view nicely, but should make sure you route them well or you might not be able to put the side panel back on properly.

Finished Looks

Once turned on, the three fans in the front light up, as does the power button up top. You may toggle the color with the reset button, through some run-of-the-mill animations, like breathing or cycling through hues. Below are the basic color options you can go through:

Looking through the side of the chassis, you can clearly see all the major parts, with the 3.5" drive and PSU nicely hidden underneath the shroud. The glow of the fans allows you to see some additional detail within, as well as through the top of the DF-500. The rear of the chassis looks quite standard, with everything in its place and easily accessible.
