Pushing the Limits (Or Not)
The Aorus 17 does not support CPU or memory overclocking in any way. There is some headroom on the GPU side of things, however, and various tools out there can provide increased clocks while staying within the power targets and limits imposed by the GPU BIOS. Naturally, the overhead you may find is going to vary by each individual Aorus 17, and heat or power limits are going to be the limiting factors.
To measure what I was able to overclock the GPU to, I used 3DMARK Port Royal. We aren't expecting big gains here, after all. Using the built-in driver-level OC software, we achieved just +81 MHz.
A few points more for sure. If you don't mind banging against the rev limiter all the time, the performance difference is worth it.
