Apevia X-Jupiter Jr. G Type Review

Installation

To install the mainboard, you need to place stand-offs at the right places within the case. Apevia has included two kinds of these screws. One has a little edge, while the other kind is the normal type. The little edge on two of these screws helps to keep the board in place, so you can screw in the mainboard screws - simple but very effective. After installing the mainboard, it becomes apparent, that the top graphics card may interfere with the bottom, external 3.5 inch bay. Nonetheless, it should not make use of the bay impossible.

Inserting the hard drives is a two step process. First place the slides unto the drive, then slide it in until it locks into place, once again, simple but very effective. This system really works well and holds the drives in place securely, even for transport.

Installing the optical drive is quite similar, simply slide it in and move the lock into place. While it does hold the drive, there is still a little play. You may want to secure it with at least one screw, so it will stop moving around. The power supply on the other hand has to be secured with four screws. There is still plenty of space for any large CPU cooler to be used within the X-Jupiter Jr.

Finished Look

Once everything was connected, the side panel was put back into place and the thumb screws pulled tight. As you can see, even the fairly tall Arctic Cooling cooler fits well within the X-Jupiter Jr.

While the case did not hold a lot of surprises during inspection and installation, it is all forgotten when the X-Jupiter Jr. is turned on. The blue LED fan looks great and the large Apevia logo on the door lights up very nicely. I turned off the light, to give you an idea as to how it will look at a dark LAN party.

Taking a closer look at the LCD display, while the unit is on, you may realize that it is identical to the ones found on the X-QPack and X-QPack 2. The Apevia Logo is well lit and actually very bright. This is certainly a nice touch, but also helps market the brand. Anyone looking at your case will know right away who manufactures it.
