Aqirys has provided the market with a unique offering with a relatively robust feature-set in the sub-€400 price range. The overall finish and quality of the chair is as expected for this segment of the market, but with added benefits like the magnetic components and the internal lumbar adjustment, the Atlas can punch above its weight class.
The Atlas does not really stand out in any specific way, but represents a solid option within it's market segment. The materials, although not flashy like some of the synthetic leather options, are both soft and comfortable, while feeling durable and thick, which hopefully means the unit will last a long time. The overall construction of the chair feels hard wearing, which can sometimes be a sore-spot for chairs in this price range.
I thoroughly enjoy the removable armrest technology. Armrests are often one of the first components to succumb to wear-and-tear, so the ability to swap to a fresh new armrest means your purchase will be a much easier investment to maintain in the long-run. I also enjoy the satisfying thunk of the armrest inserts attaching, which I think all gamers will enjoy.
If I am nitpicking, the overall design of the chair feels a little generic. Compared to many entries in the gaming-chair market, it lacks personality of design. Aside from the branding on the backrest, it would be hard to identify compared to some of its competitors. Some users may enjoy that, others look for more of a unique design. That is generally personal preference. Also, the bottom of the seat reveals some of the factors leading to its lower price point. There is a very off-brand green and black set of straps running across the bottom. They are elastic and functional to hold the seat firm, but don't seem to match the rest of the chair visually. Also, the exposed staples holding the seat material in place feel out of place. Luckily, most of this is not visible once assembled.
The Aqirys Atlas is designed to compete in a crowded space in the Gaming Chair market. There are a lot of offerings at this price point, which makes it hard to stand out. I believe the extra features included in the Atlas, and some of the unique components like the use of magnets, help set it apart.
If you are looking for a hard wearing, comfortable, and feature-packed chair at this price, check out the Atlas.
