Two plastic covers with a bolt each are used to secure the backrest to the metal brackets of the base of the seat. Unlike some other brands, AQIRYS includes black rubber covers to hide the bolts, which is an excellent detail.


There is a large, embroidered logo in gunmetal threading on the headrest, and the company name on the rear is in the same threading.

Build Quality

The backbone of the Calypso is a carbon steel frame that feels sturdy. Under the base of the seat are elastic bands and steel bars for extra support and comfort.

Armrests

The frame is covered in high-density Polyurethane foam filling, which has been spread over the frame evenly. The chair's upholstery is a blend of synthetic materials. The Alcantara X suede fabric is also used in clothing, jewelry, and smartphone covers. Fire retardant chemicals are used in some cases, such as car upholsteries.


The armrests are 4D and manufactured from soft polyurethane made to resembles carbon fiber to match the chair's upholstery. Both armrests have three adjustment buttons. The button on the side, under each armrest, is for adjusting their height. Another button protruding at the front on the inner side is for clockwise back/forth movement, and if you'd like to spread your arms a bit, the last one in the inner middle under the armrest is for sliding it in/out.

Neck and Lumbar-Support Pillows

For additional, optional neck and lumbar support, two detachable velvety black cushions have been included. Both are embroidered with the company logo in white.

Gas Lift, Five-Star Base, and Casters

A Class-4 gas lift is responsible for all height adjustments and can lift the maximum stated weight. The five-star base is matte black and made from aluminium alloy, with each arm adorned with white highlights. Its diameter is 67 cm (26.37 in.). Inside the bundle, we find a set of 3-inch nylon casters and a set of Ultra-Glide Silent PU 3-inch casters.
