Storage Performance

The ASRock B550 PG Riptide has a reasonable complement of storage options. That having been said, more USB 3.2 Gen2 10 Gb/s ports in the I/O section would have been nice.

The external USB-C enclosure is only rated for 10 Gb/s; 850 MB/s is right on target for most USB 3.2 Gen2 2x1 (10 Gbps) enclosures.

Using a Samsung 980 Pro M.2 drive, testing shows that the second M.2 socket is indeed Gen3, as it is routed through the B550 chipset which only has a Gen3 uplink to the CPU.
