ASRock X399M Taichi Review

Packaging and Contents

The ASRock X399M Taichi shows up in standard ASRock Taichi clothing, although this Taichi is a bit smaller than the others. You get the usual stuff both front and rear, and then you get to open the box...

When you do open it up, you'll find the board up top wrapped in an anti-static bag. Pull it from the bag and you'll see the layer of closed-cell foam that surrounds the board to help keep it safe for when it makes its way to you. You'll have to cut the zip-ties that go through the board's mounting holes at each corner if you are going to power it up without leave it sitting in the box. :P

There are a few accessories included in the box. Here's what I found:
  • Quick installation guide, manual, support DVD, and other papers
  • 1x Rear I/O cover
  • 4x SATA 6 Gb/s cables
  • 1x 2S HB SLI bridge
  • 1x 1S HB SLI bridge
  • 2x Wi-Fi antenna
  • 1x ASRock case badge
It is worth noting here that there is not just one HB SLI bridge, but two, so you can use the bridge that suits how you decide to utilize the slots that are offered here on the ASRock X399M Taichi. The fact that both are included is a sign that ASRock has already put some serious thought into how you might put the board to use, and has ensured you will have what you need right in the box so you can get everything up and running right away.
