Final Thoughts and Conclusion

  • The ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition is available for US$399.99.
  • Excellent, modern aesthetic
  • Industry-leading RGB LED implementation
  • Good overclocking
  • Price
The ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition is a great-looking motherboard with a sharp and modern aesthetic. The collaboration with Razer feels like a natural progression for the strides ASRock has taken in bringing their motherboard RGB implementations to the forefront of the industry in the last two years. The ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition has vibrant lighting with great diffusion, and effects that are properly harnessed by the Razer Synapse software.

As for performance, memory stability was quite good. The ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition achieved 4000 MHz at XMP timings with my G.SKILL Trident Z Neo memory kit and was even stable at the tighter "Fast" preset. CPU overclocking was great as well, with the ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition matching the best results I have seen on my Ryzen 9 3900X. For VRM temperatures, the ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition also performed very well, barely exceeding 50 °C in Prime95 with an overclock of 4.2 GHz at 1.35 V.

The ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition also features 2.5 Gb/s networking from Killer, along with a Killer WiFi 6 adapter and support for Killer's software suite. When combined with the improved VRM and excellent RGB implementation, the ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition is a compelling package. However, at almost US$400, the ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition comes at a full US$100 price premium over last year's X570 Taichi. The new Razer Edition is improved in almost every way, but that is a steep price hike.

While the ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition is an excellent motherboard, unless you need both the best RGB implementation and full PCIe 4.0 support, I would recommend considering last year's ASRock X570 Taichi, or the new ASRock B550 Taichi Razer Edition.
