ASRock Z590 Steel Legend WiFi 6E Review

VRM Overview »

Board Layout

The ASRock Z590 Steel Legend WiFi 6E features a black and gray patterned PCB matched with silver and white heatsinks. While the combination sounds busy, the end result is eye catching.

The CPU socket is open enough for most air coolers.

There are three M.2 slots on the ASRock Z590 Steel Legend WiFi 6E. The top and bottom slots feature aluminium heatsinks.

Note that the top M.2 slot is PCIe 4.0 compliant and will only function when an 11th Gen CPU is installed.

The ASRock Z590 Steel Legend WiFi 6E offers two PCI Express x16 slots, with the top slot metal-reinforced. The top slot is PCIe 4.0 compliant, while the bottom slot is PCIe 3.0 only.

The board has a total of six SATA 6 Gb/s ports, four angled 90 degrees in a single line on the right side and two more on the bottom edge. This unusual configuration is there for ASRock's graphics card holder anti-sag bracket to be installed without blocking any ports.

The ASRock Z590 Steel Legend WiFi 6E has a reasonable I/O offering that includes an optical S/PDIF Out port and Wi-Fi 6.
