Introduction

ASUS Logo

When it comes to mainstream brands covered on TechPowerUp, ASUS does not need any introduction. It's so popular, in fact, that the Republic of Gamers line of products has its own identity now to where people actively look out for ROG products based on the effective marketing done over the past few years. These include motherboards and other base PC components that go inside the case, but also external equipment and accessories including keyboards, mice, headsets, and even backpacks and apparel. When we visit ASUS at a trade show, ROG tends to have the largest and flashiest section. CES 2023 was no exception and one thing caught my eye almost immediately—the all new ASUS ROG Azoth keyboard.

As seen in our initial coverage, the ROG Azoth is a keyboard in the 75% form factor that is getting extremely popular in the last few months, even overtaking 60 and 65% keyboards. Perhaps it's to do with this version being as close to a TKL set as you can get while still having reasonable size savings on your desk and perhaps it's also due to the extra row now allowing for ample room on the top right corner for manufacturers to put out their own unique touches. Some go for a volume knob whereas others, including ASUS, have gone with an OLED display. But there's more going on here, including with the use of a multi-function control knob on the side to give you the best of both worlds. There's also hybrid wireless connectivity on offer in addition to the use of first-party hot-swappable switches, a proper gasket mount and an actual switch lube kit to intrigue even the more hardcore of keyboard enthusiasts, and much more to where the ROG Azoth can be considered as a new flagship keyboard from ASUS to join the ROG Claymore II we saw before. Thanks to ASUS for providing a review sample to TechPowerUp and we begin our coverage with a look at the product specifications in the table below.
