VRM Overview
The VRM heatsinks are fairly basic with no interlinking heatpipe, but as mentioned previously, there are no other chips tapping into them for cooling such as USB4 or Wi-Fi7, so there's not quite as much need for anything larger. The temperature recorded by our quartet of thermal probes and data logger after our 10-minute stress test with our Ryzen 9 9950X failed to top 50°C so we have no concerns about this board being able to handle flagship CPUs under high loads for extended periods so long as there is at least some airflow going to the heatsinks.
The teamed VRMs are made up of 16 phases for the CPU, two for SOC and two for MISC. These are all 80 A Vishay SIC629, so a bit of a climb down from the 110 A stages on the Crosshair X870E Hero for example, but still perfectly capable of handling a Zen 5 16-core CPU.
