The ASUS ROG STRIX Z590-I Gaming WiFi is an exemplary premium ITX Z590 board. With WiFi 6E, 2.5 Gb/s LAN, and an integrated I/O shield, as well as both M.2 slots cleverly located on the front of the board and lots of storage connectivity, all the feature boxes are checked. When it comes to looks, the ASUS ROG STRIX Z590-I Gaming WiFi is classically ASUS by featuring an excellent RGB implementation and a design that is neutral enough to make for easy parts matching.
Out of the box, performance was excellent for the ASUS ROG STRIX Z590-I Gaming WiFi. Memory overclocking was very good as well, as I reached 3900 MHz CL16 stable with my Trident Z Neo kit for my 10th Gen sample and 4000 MHz on my 11th Gen sample. For CPU overclocking, I was able to achieve 5.2 GHz on all cores on my i9-10900K and 5.1 GHz on my i9-11900K. VRM thermals were very good as well, never exceeding 65 °C even during VRM torture testing. The stock VRM fan curve keeps noise output to a minimum, and even after disabling the fan, temperatures stayed at a very reasonable 70 °C.
The ASUS ROG STRIX Z590-I Gaming WiFi is a feature-packed board that continues the ASUS tradition of pushing the envelope with innovative designs. While there certainly are great Z590 boards that can be had at a lower price, if you are in the market for a high-end Z590 ITX motherboard with Thunderbolt 4, the ASUS ROG STRIX Z590-I Gaming WiFi is a great choice.
