Exterior
The front is covered by a plastic cover that is held in place by magnets. Overall build quality looks decent despite the heavy use of plastic.
At the front, you will find several LED indicators, the power and copy buttons, and a useful USB port.
At the back are two Ethernet and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, an HDMI 2.0a, the DC-IN jack, and a into the chassis recessed reset button. This reset button only initializes some of the server's settings and doesn't erase any of your data.
The trays don't slide in and out with ease, which looks bad in a NAS that costs close to $500.
The trays are plastic and of low quality. To make matters worse, they don't have any sound-dampening material. This might not be a problem in my case because I use SSDs, but mechanical drives may vibrate, causing noise.
If you want to install 2.5" drives, you will have to screw them on to the trays. Only 3.5" drives benefit from a tool-less installation.
The power adapter is of high quality. It is made by Delta Electronics and has model number DPS-90AB-3. It can deliver up to 90 W, which is enough for this server's needs.
