A Closer Look

The Ballistix Sport AT has a simple profile with some added angles to break up an overall rectangular shape.

The Ballistix Sport AT is gunmetal gray with black and yellow accenting that proclaims the TUF Gaming Alliance. The stamped aluminium heat spreader has a nice finish and expertly applied decals, and the corners of the center stamping have a digi-cameo pattern common to TUF Gaming products—the whole aesthetic comes together nicely.

The Ballistix Sport AT has a respectable XMP certification of 3200 MHz at 16-18-18-36, promising some decent performance. Unfortunately, it will be hard to measure against most other kits I have reviewed as single channel will never match the performance of dual channel in most applications.

"Ballistix by Micron" is featured in the center on both the front and back, with "sport" and a logo on the left side.

The heat spreader is a standard aluminium stamping held to the PCB with adhesive. The 16 GB variant I have is double-sided, of course.

There is only one visible PCB marking on the Ballistix Sport AT, and it is too obscure to provide any relevant information.

I like to weigh a stick from each kit I get as the difference in mass can be pretty drastic between kits. Mass is not the best indicator of cooling efficiency because material can matter, and of course, heat dissipation is reliant on surface area, not volume or mass. That said, it is still interesting to compare.

The Ballistix Sport AT comes in at 34.68 g on my scale, so it is indeed lightweight. The caliper measurement is even more interesting, with the Ballistix Sport AT coming in at just 35 mm in height, which is a good 10–15 mm shorter than average. Sport is indeed an accurate description, and for those worried about CPU cooler clearances, the Ballistix Sport AT is a very appealing option.
