The be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2 certainly looks fantastic with my test system's motherboard. The cooler's solid black color should fit any theme a user may have in mind.


be quiet! has really created their own style with this big CPU cooler, as the dark, nickel-plated aluminum fin stacks really help it blend in well with the black PCB of the motherboard.


Overall clearance around the socket is also good. be quiet!'s cooler does not interfere with the 8-pin EPS connector or the heatsinks.


Clearance for tall memory sticks is a no-go. The be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2 has no room for the likes of Corsair's Dominator Platinums. However, most mid-height memory modules, like Gskill's Ripjaw Z, will fit without issue. The front 120 x 25 mm fan can even be raised up a bit to further improve clearance. It won't be by a large amount, but could, depending on the memory sticks used, create enough room.
