Installation
To install the Dark Rock Slim, users will need to prepare the backplate to then secure it to the motherboard. This means you will need to put the backplate screws into the correct slots on the backplate and secure them with the O-rings. Once done, use the proper spacers to secure the backplate to the motherboard.
Now, secure the mounting arms to the spacers with the provided screws and apply some thermal paste. With that done, the cooler can now be mounted.
Position the heatsink such that it faces in the proper direction on the CPU and secure it to the motherboard via the mounting bridge and two screws. With that done, attach the fan and plug it in. That's it, you're ready to go.
Installation was pretty easy overall, and I would rate it a 9 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest). The cooler's manageable size and simple mounting hardware makes for a quick installation. However, it's not quite on the same level as Noctua's SecuFirm 2.
